Hi there,
I am after some info if anybody can be so kind?
We are travelling to the Red Sea Holiday Village with a small baby, and just wondered what shops there are in the vicinity of the hotel to buy things like Baby milk formula, nappies etc... Is there a Supermarket nearby or is there a shop within the complex...... or even both perhaps ?
Any advise of info would be very gratefully received.
Thanks in advance !
There are shops within the holiday village but are expensive, just outside the holiday village there is a cheaper shop called the 24/7 it's to the left of the main entrance, or there is the Metro which is to the right, about a 5 to 10 min walk, it's like a smaller version of Tesco, you can get everything in there.
hope this helps and have a great time.
Thank you so much Suzanc. Really appreciate that info. Can't wait to go there soon now.
Hi, we stayed in a kids den in block 5, room 5105 this is on the ground floor and is a short distance to the main pool ( 30 secs) and with a partial sea view. air con was ice cold. Our girls aged 6 & 8 loved the kids den and it was great that there was english film and cartoon channels when we wanted them out of the sun for 1/2 an hour to chill out. wish we were still there and have in fact booked already to go back next year.
Hi Clive, Thanks for the info, can you tell me if its best to bring sterling and where to exchange please? Also I have 2 little boys who are used to going to Turkey and geting replica football shirts etc Can you tell me if there are markets/shops that sell these at a good price?

Everywhere takes sterling, exchange rate out there way better than at home, there are loads of banks even a HSBC just 5-10 mins walk from holiday village just turn right at the hotel entrance and they are down the road. On the way you will sea all the shirt shops too so you can get your replicas, watches, handbags, sunglasses all the labels at lower prices than the hotel shops. also mcdonalds, kfc, tgi`s and starbucks across the road.
Does anyone know if the hotel has free wifi?
Wifi card cost me £2.50 for 15 mins, they also have a few computers for access but again about the same price. I think it does get a bit cheaper the more minutes you buy though and signal in rooms is quite strong.
Thanks for that, just thinking about using my iPhone every now and then.
hi im off to the red sea holiday village last week in august trying to find out where it is, what there is around it and the best block to stay in any advice would be good thanks
Can anybody please tell me if there is any dress code for the evening meal. Do men need long trousers or is it smart casual??
is it very very hot in august then i go on the 25th of august till 8th of sept
Yes it gets very very hot in August, Around about 100 degrees everyday. Make sure you pack plenty of suntan lotion!!!
Can anybody tell me if inflatables are also allowed in the pools??

You will be looking at average daytime temperatures in the region of 37 (99°F) to about 43°C (110°F) give or take a couple of degrees, it can go a lot higher than this, up in to the high 40's (115°F +) but that is not generally the norm.
joanyy will do already got it
We're just back last week from the Holiday Village so any questions I will endeavour to answer!!
Inflatables were allowed in the pools - shops on site sell them.
I never saw one person wearing long trousers when I was there - far too hot I think. Even in the A La Carte restaurants, most men were wearing 3/4 trousers or knee length shorts.
As regards blocks to stay in, I think it all depends what you're after. We were in block 8, very nice and right next to the reception area and buffet - suited us, 5 min walk to main pool area and slides. 10 mins ish to the kids pool.
Swim up rooms are all located in this area too and next to the quiet pool which is also next to the main reception area. I think all the select rooms are situated mainly above swim up rooms.
Jacuzzi rooms are down next to the kids pool and main pool - I couldn't see the point of those. The jacuzzi is on the balcony at the front and has no privacy. Swim up rooms were very very nice in my opinion.
Block 6 seemed to be nicey located bang in the centre of the resort.
We had a lovely time - the kids clubs are absolutely fantastic!!!
cool im glad u had a fab time my room is just a standard room with 2 adults n 2 kids but one over 12 so cant have a kids den is there much near there then n weres best place to exchange your cash cheers
You can exchange money in the hotel, nice and easy plus there's a cashpoint there at the reception.
There's quite alot out the front of the hotel, both left and right - lots of shops, restaurants a few bars etc..... I didn't really venture far as it was red hot. They recommend you go at night as it's (slightly) cooler and you get less hassle from the shopkeepers because it's busier. I think the shops are open til past 11pm. There's alot of building work going on, they are obviously building loads of new hotels there. I didn't know that Sharm is only 40 years old and Nabq Bay (where the HV is) is only 10 years old. They've done alot in 10 years.
By the way, something that I particularly liked about this hotel was that there was no huge wasps (I hate those) and we didn't get one mozzie bite between us either. Makes a difference to us anway. Still took the old repellant though.
Another tip I would give would be at the very first signs of the perhaps inevitable dodgy tummy, to go see the pharmacist out the front of the hotel. He is very good. He said that Imodium has no effect in Egypt as it's a different kind of parasite (I can concur with that) and gave us something similar (capsules and sachets) which sorted my daughter out within 10 mins and she was pretty poorly on our last day. It really was that quick!!
It is a bone of contention with me that people don't use the alcohol gel provided as you walk into the buffet. We used it every time, believe me this hotel is spotless so any "illness" is not the fault of the hotel. I saw loads of people not using them and my husband saw people not washing their hands after going to the toilet so then they are touching food etc . Plus I also blame parents for allowing children that I consider to be too young to get their own food - I saw one girl picking out bits of orange, sucking them and then putting them back....no parent to be seen!! This just bugs me, I allowed my 10 year old to get her own food but not my 4 year. I just feel that this, coupled with the very hot climate, different food etc contributes to the old "Egyptian tummy"
Honestly, the hotel is constantly being cleaned!!!
lol i might be best upgrading to a select room then im glad its clean as for kids club not sure wether to use it as my youngest as aspergus will have to enquire about that when im there lol
