Cross the harbour in the Star ferry and go up Victoria Peak in the funicular.

you must not leave Hong Kong without some Dim Sum!
THE place to be is Maxims at City Hall. You go there at lunchtime. Be prepared to wait for a table. It is huge but really popular. Beware- there are 2 Maxims in City hall- its the top floor one you want.

Take a bus trip across the island to Stanley and try and sit on the top deck at the front.

Ride the trams along Hennesey Road.

Visit one of the outlying islands if you have time, to see a completely different side of HK.

Watch the Symphony of Lights from the harbourfront walkway at Tsim Sha Tsui.

Walk up Nathan Road and see if you can manage not to spend anything :D

If you have time it's worth the ferry ride to Lantau island to see the Big Budda and the temple at Ngong Ping. The cable car ride back down is great!

That's got to go onto my list of must-dos for next time we're there. It was still under construction last time we went 2 years ago, but I bet it's really spectacular :D

Get an Octopus card for travel around- valid on all buses, trams, ferries and underground

Also try the Kowloon Circle tour- a bus that does a circular route round Kowloon, you just hop on and off at the vairous stops- covers the main sights.

Go up to the Felix bar at The Penninsular Hotel- it has the most spectacular views from the toilets- of the harbour or the city depending on your gender- quite amazing though.

Oh, do you really think so? Which part did you go in? We stayed there in September last year and thought this was one of the "must do's" so we called in one night and were directed to the area at the right upstairs. That section was on a slight angle and so it felt like a listing ship and was very uncomfortable. Bizzarely the view was spoilt by blinds at the window. We were very disappointed :( So much so my hubby didn't even go to the loo :?
The views from Aqua on the other hand were great and it was a lovely point to watch the light show from with a chilled glass of champagne.

Well this was about 4 years ago.

We went up there by a special lift that only went up there- there were no blinds then just the most amazing views- and the loos are worth the visit too- incredibly posh :D

Try to have dinner at the Peak Cafe. Make sure that you have a table in the window on the second floor. The views over the harbour are stunning.
Take the ferry to Lamma. About 45 minutes takes you to a different world. No cars but some good bars. You will find lots of ex pat slackers.
Take the hydrofoil to Macau and try your luck playing blackjack at the Lisboa casino.

We had four days in Hong Kong and packed as much sightseeing in as possible but it wasnt long enough, a week would have been ideal. We were shattered after the four days. Never the less we had a great time and it is somewhere we would go again.
I agree that the view from the peak is not to be missed!

I really found this useful as I'm going there for 4 nights at the end of February. Are there any more must see places?

Its worth getting a good guide book and just following one of their walks. There are some interesting areas to explore. One place we revisited was the bird park. I loved it- hundreds of birds and the owners take the cages for walks. They like to show off good singers.
