Hi Liz. We came back from Stalis yesterday and I'm pleased to report that we really enjoyed the resort. There are a few Irish bars there and some bars with live entertainment such as music, quizes, karaoke and hypnotist. The traditional Greek tavernas are also not to be missed. Hersonissos is the next resort to Stalis. Not sure how long it would take to walk between them. You'd probably best rely on a taxi.

We only drove through Hersonissos at 4am on our way to the airport on the morning of our departure and I can say that it was far too busy for us - even at that time of the morning - bars still open and youngsters walking the streets. Stalis on the other hand is more of a family resort. I'm not saying your friends have chosen badly as we don't all look for the same thing. I'm just saying that we're very glad we chose Stalis.
Have a fab time!

Thanks for replies, I am glad we booked this resort. Our friends have booked an A/I in Hersonnisos and I agree its not for us. We will prob go there a couple of times to visit them or they will come to us but am glad we never booked the same resort

I am so pleased with Hotel reviews and am not bothered too much about the food as we like to eat out in different places anyway.

Do you know if the views from the seaview rooms are good riversider? We have booked a superior seaview as it was only £26 more!

I would like a nice view from room as I do go to te room a lot when it is too hot. I can have a read on the balcony .... Can't wait!

Oh y the way is it near enough to walk to the irish bars and live music bars? Are there any supermarkets near by, and do they have fridges in the rooms? :que

Thanks Liz.

Hi again Liz,
sorry I can't help with the info you asked for as we didn't stay in the Anastasia. I'm trying to think whether we saw it there. I'll ask my sis if she recalls seeing it. The Irish bars are quite close to the Hersonissos end of Stalis.

the view is ok but the sea is some way off if i remember rightly and we had the top two rooms at the front of the complex but you will enjoy it.
Yes the rooms have fridges but not amazingly cold when we where there.
The nearest supermarket is 10 mis away, not ideal but it was never a problem. At first we turned right under the underpass as we left the hotel and followed the road to the town until we realised it was quicker to go left after going under the road and cutting through the cactus beach hotel or you can walk further up and cut through another hotel,i can't remember the name off-hand.You will find your way around pretty quickly. The good thing about cutting through the hotels is you miss out most of the mad quad bikes on the way to malia.

Hi Liz

I have just got back from my holiday in Crete and I stayed in Anastasia...with a sea view.

The sea is in the distance not too close.

I e mailed the hotel and asked if i could have a top floor room and it turns out we got the best room in the hotel.....biggest balcony!

E mail them and request to have room 118. Im sure they will oblige!

Hi Angela

We have booked a family S/View room as it was the same price? Is that what you where in?

Did it have space inside room?

I'm not really bothered about family room etc as it is just the 2 of us, but our Daughter is staying in Hersonassis and may want a night with us so this may be beneficial in the long run.

Thanks for your reply.

Liz.

In that case I think you may have the room which was next to ours.
Although it isnt immediatly next to ours as there was a balcony in between that no one used as the door to it is locked which is better as more privacy.
You will have a great time there.
However if you eat out in Stalis try to avoid the chinese restaurant that does a buffet....you have to walk up a flight of stairs.
This chinese has awful service!

Thanks Angela

Which would you say would have the better view/location?
I don't really need a family room but thought if its more spacious etc then for same price we might as well, but views are what I really would like as I do sit on the balcony whilst hubby sunbathes by pool. (I just get bored by the pool after half an hour!) Are the views nice?

Thanks for advice on Chinese, whats the hotel breakfast and eve meal like?
Did you go to the bbq night at the hotel? if so was it good/bad.

Cheers

Liz

Both rooms would have the same view. As I said before thoe the view of the sea is in the distance...my room and the other one faced over the pool area then there is a road and then a few other hotels and then the sea in the distance.
Its still nice thoe.
The breakfast is a choice of toast, fruit, and hot ie sausages eggs etc....they also do boiled eggs and croissants etc. Orange, tea and coffee.
The evening meals are nice and the bbq is ok. They still do normal food on this night as well.
The hotel is very children orientated.
