Have tried looking to see if there are any tea/coffee facilities in the rooms but there doesn't seem to be any or no mention of them anywhere. I know this is an AI Hotel and people might think, what do you need tea/coffee in the room for? but my hubby and myself like these as soon as we wake up in comfort, and when waiting for everyone to get ready. Can anyone confirm this, or has anyone taken their own Travel kettle etc, as we do if need be, and used them without anyone saying anything about them being in the room or not allowed. Thanks for any replies. Karen

We were here the week before last. No tea/coffee making facilities. However, nothing to stop you taking them from the bar. ;)
We had our own kettle in the room which we kept in one of the cupboards.

i.ve heard it all now....leave it on show, you wont get told off.you bring what ever you wish to take.to save weight nip to the indoor market.as you walk down to the beach ok.take the 1st entry.bar on left.about 4 shops on the right you can buy a plug in fusser.that will hot your water up like a kettle inside element.just buy two cheap mugs and away you go.
dont forget your teabags.and try to get those small plastic milk cartons from airport as you go.if not buy some milk and if not a fridge in room, put in cold water say the beday...or you could get up and nip down and get a couple of cups of tea.then go down later to eat...

Thanks, DJWoody but we already have a very lightweight 2 pin travel kettle and put a few teabags coffee sugar etc in it for going. Nice one about going down for a few cups of tea but don't fancy the trek down first thing in the morning, unwashed and in PJs, as thats when we usually have our first cup. Don't intend to hide the kettle in the cupboard, but I know where Kath is coming from because at another Hotel we were staying in, kettles etc where not allowed in the rooms and so we all hid ours out of the site in the cupboard when not in use. Urmmmm, actually do not leave it on show.
They (hotels) do not like you using kettles and the "plug- in fuser rods" that you recommend, I've seen signs that strictly forbid their use (fuser rods) along with kettles and no smoking in bed....def the Pelicanos and I think the Marina....along with many other hotels in Spain.
Those "fuser rods" are quite dangerous because if you lift the rod out of the water BEFORE you unplug it, it then becomes like a kettle element without any water, only the fusers do not have a safety "cut-out" like most modern kettles and will blow the plug.
The reasons.?
They do not like you using their electricity and before anyone comes back at me, I believe a kettle will use far more electricty than an hairdryer.
They want you to buy a coffee from them, not make your own ...although that does not apply with A1.
They don't want the electrics blowing because of faulty appliances, which is the same principal regarding patients who go into hospital in the UK and bring their own appliances, these must be checked out by the hospital electrician before being allowed to be used.
So, as I don't drink coffee/tea from any hotel machine in the diningroom and have for years taken a lightweight travel kettle with me (done the fuser rods years ago) my advice is, put it away in the cupboard.

Dried milk, whilst not the worlds best solution to a cuppa tea, the taste is one that you do become accustomed too, over the years.

Out of sight, out of mind !

We've been using dried milk for years. The trick is to put a spoonful in the mug and add a little cold water to mix before adding the hot water, then it doesn't curdle.

When we've been AI, we've seen people ask for a glass of milk at the bar at the end of the night to make the early morning cuppa.

djwoody, I said kept in the cupboard - not hid

Anyway, I like a tidy room ;)
Also if you turn right when you come out of the Oasis you will come to a supermarket. They sell the tiny little cartons of milk (enough for a cup). It's long life and doesn't go off.

We always take our own small kettle and use dried milk but will get some small cartons of milk from the supermarket. Thanks Kath for telling us about this, it certainly is better than the dried milk.

We also put our kettle in a cupboard when not in use as on one occasion it was knocked over by the cleaners and the water went everywhere.

Hi all,

i notice that the FO has an internet centre. how much is it to use??

what is the security like on it?? i.e. when your'e away, would it be safe to log in to your email account or internet bank accounts for example??

Hi, When I was at the Flamingo Oasis last month, it was 1 euro for 15 minutes to use the computers.

Although I don't have internet banking, I did use it to access my emails.

It is situated in an area away from reception, near to the lifts

I found the internet facilities pretty good (it's the most I have used whilst on holiday ;))

As Sue says it was 1 euro for 15 mins.

Also just in case anyone is worried about their luggage, they have scales in the same area, where you can weigh your suitcases before returning home for 1 euro too.

Hi,

Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, but I couldn't find anything about it on a search.

I stayed at the Flamingo Oasis last year and loved it so much I've booked for Sep this year again. I just noticed that the Flamingo Oasis came 3rd in Trip Advisors 2006 awards in the catagory for 'Best Hotel In Europe For Families'

I tried to post a link so you could view all the winners in all catagories but it won't let me as I've not posted 10 times before. If there's any way around that let me know?! Didn't notice any other Benidorm hotels.

Has anyone been to this hotel in July? Just wondering how busy it will be and if it has the usual sunbed dash at 7.00 in the morning. I have been to this hotel in April and it wasnt too crowded.

Friends of ours go every July, and if you ain't in the queue at 9 you got no chance. They go to the beach and head back uo 4ish, plenty about then.
