can anyone tell me which rooms catch the morning sun in flamingo oasis. also is the sunbed dash as bad as what is shown in youtube. i go for one week 25/05/10.
I was there 15-18th May and there was no pool dash at all. You could wander down 10.30-11.00 and get a bed easy.
This time last year it was very much a pool dash for the saddo's.
It's not just this hotel, I've seen it at the Rio Park, Palm Beach and the Regente
I hate crowded pools. I couldn't think of anything worse than sitting round it all day.
Prefer the Beach myself..much more relexing!
From reading this thread it sounds to me like this hotel has really gone down hill since our visit four years ago, sounds like some regulars are leaving well alone. Why is this, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was honestly thinking of returning but may have to have a rethink!
More and more stag & hen doos using the hotel plus the fact that you cannot use the upstairs pool or bar unless you have paid extra to have a club room.
I'm sure that's the reason why people aren't going back to the Flamingo Oasis Dave. Also the sunbeds are so close together round the main pool and you were glad to go on the rooftop for some peace and quiet.
Yes it was a nightmare trying to get the buggy around the sunbeds, it was bad enough just trying to walk through them without it.
We went on June the 14th last year and every day there was a sunbed dash from about 7.30 in the morn they started queueing and got them out at about 8. Then it was the same thing every evening to watch the entertainment , it was hard going believe me x
i think the hotel must have bought in loads more.
they were very cramped though but this was no problem for us, although i can see previous answer stating its hard to get buggy through and i agree fully with that. its still a fab hotel and i would go back
ooooh im pleased your comments are pretty positive turnbulllz about the Flamingo Oasis. We go away on the 12th June and some of the reviews ive been reading have been worrying me, mainly comments due to stags and hens.....
just to add there were 3 large groups over the week. one 50th birthday, one hen party and one large group of about 15 guys. but no problems with them at all. they were sometimes loud but they kept themselves to themselves. they were told to quieten down one night by the security guard when they engaged in some singing, after that it was fine.
Can anyone tell me what connections the club room TV's have? I want to take my laptop and watch films and UK tele on the TVs.
Reviews I have read list tv channels as BBC1 , ITV 1&2 , channel 4, Sky sports 1&2, BBC news, BBC sport, and true movies. Setanta was also listed. This review was from last summer so channels may have changed.
I beleive there is a dvd library in the club lounge as well as computers but I will know better when I arrive
Ah thank you. I didnt realise they had UK channels, this hotels gettng better by the minute, I'm going on the 17th.
SNAP.....
Channel 4 never worked though - unless it was just our TV but I wouldn't of thought so
thanks
