Ive missed all this excitement today :( .

It may be worth checking airtours as well .I know its the same group but when I phoned my travel the other night I was given Free child places with airtours. Still couldnt beat the price I had with Direct but as we all know one family gets a completely different price to another family.

Im actually liking the sound of the new disco but then I will have 2 x18 yr olds and a 16 year old and they start needing that bit more otherwise they will be off on their own to magaluf . :( .Im hoping for a good quality A/I with clientel to match that offers a bit of a buzz over the summer holidays in a similar way to the belcekiz . only another 18 months before I find out.

the A/I ended at 12 at the BB chris . but I think they carried on serving drinks on A/i a bit later in the plaza bar even though strictly speaking they should of been paid for .

Hi Lyn
I think it will be brilliant for your family Lyn, if my kids were older I would have no qualms about booking, infact it might be worth me 'saving it' for a couple of years time.
Although of course next year my youngest is still eligible for a child place, which he wont be in two years time (if they still want to come with us) & I guess that is one of the things that is making it a good deal. As you said a couple of pages ago the child price is quite cheap considering the quality and that it's AI.

I dont think I have checked Airtours just Direct, Going Places and TC's sites, silly really as I am booked through Airtours for Lykia. It's so odd with it all being one company now but still trading under all these different names.

I still think it would be a good choice for you Chris . you could always request a quiet room ;) the BB I thought was fairly busy and the music did go on until about 2 and probably in a much more confined space although rooms I will admit were away from the noiser areas. The Hemera does look bigger and it would probably help if you knew the location of the standard/family rooms and by the sound of it then the disco would be under the area where the apartments are , would that be right david . I cant really see that you would hear the music from the disco if it was underground but maybe when people are coming back to their rooms.

So far ive managed to avoid the "brits abroad" type A/I and Ive yet to experience noise from drunken adults . Im sure these places must exist but Ive never found one . most are normal families who like us like to be tucked up in bed by 11pm

Your probably right Lyn, I must know that it is a good choice or I wouldn't be avidly checking prices. :rofl I just didn't really want to book this early, but I know a good deal when I see one. :rofl I've lost track of who you booked the Hemera with did you manage to get a low deposit as it's 15months in advance ? I feel I should wait until I get back from Lykia.

I was in the annex at the BB which I loved and would request again if I went there. Club SunCitys entertainment was more of a problem for me than the BB's noisewise, but it finished at midnight.

I booked it on line with direct holidays Chris . and I believe it was £30 deposit per person because I booked for 6 and paid around £180.
I did ring around and Lesley gave me the number of a travel agent in loughton to try for a good deal ,but unfortunately nobody could beat the price I had with direct so i did it on-line to get my 4% cashback through quidco that should amount to roughly £180. I do think its worth you still making a few calls . It was via one of the "My travel "numbers on the http://www.saynoto0870.com that tried his hardest to get me a good deal and gave me the free child price with airtours. I will pm you that number as well that lesley gave me

If I could decide that it was Turkey where I wanted to go next year, I would definitely book the Hemera. Have had my eye on it for a while now ;)

Oooooh decisions. Sure my 2 children would love it there.

Looking at the plans of the rooms on the hotel website, it does look like the family rooms are separated.

Think Direct is coming in cheapest for me and good flights with Monarch that Lyn pointed out. :tup

Yes I don't think the Hemera will be a Brits Abroad place (whatever that might mean) either. I see people moaning about these all the time on this Board and yet I have yet to experience one. Everywhere I go seems to be families & couples similar to us, can't say I have ever seem a huge amount of drunken Brits or any other nation really, perhaps the odd one or two, nothing disruptive though & it's not like we go to tiny little villages etc.

I think the Hemera is probably a better bet for English families than some of the other hotels in Side as it is featured in so many of our brochures, there is more chance that our kids will find a few others of their own age to mix with, although my son thinks he can speak German (only been learning it for a year lol). The swimming pools look superb and it seems to be right on the beach. But I am wondering if it is a typical Turkish shingly beach, It would be lovely if it was sandy.

Just checked the prices again for next summer, and they are still good for the family room I investigated earlier on in this thread. I really don't know what to do, I was determined not to book until I got back from Lykia at the very earliest, but now I am thinking say they run out of these family rooms that take 3 adults and one child ?

Does anyone know approximately how many of these rooms there are ? Is the hotel organised in blocks, with certain types of room in each one ?

Direct holidays are the cheapest out there. Booked me, my wife and daughter 15, 3 adults £2300 4 august. All the others tour ops £600 to £700 more. DD prime school hol dates are a good price. I got my mate to book using quidco but I forget everytime. £92 could of been saved. Portland if my daughter was a year younger 2 adults and 1 child are still over £300 more expensive than DD

Lyn the £30 deposit the balance of the deposit have to be paid within 8 weeks of the booking. Once my booking had gone through it said the remainder of the deposit has to be paid. How much were your adult price mine are £773.

I am booked for the hemera this august but will have to probably cancel, thats why I booked again next year. I could go somewhere late like oct. I am disappointed but hell things go wrong.

Thomas cook are not doing child prices to 14 this year but thomson and portland are.

Hi... My family got a free child place this year for my nephew and he is 13.... That was with Thomas Cook.. I have paid £1,850 for myself, my daughter 12 and my son 9.. I had to pay for 2 adults because i am not in a room with another adult so they charged my daughter an adult price (which they all do) and i got a free child place.. Sounded a good price for the 12th August this year for 2 weeks... :)

I wonder if they changed the age or I saw a misprint. On the web it said child upto 12. I know DD is upto 12. I have only just booked so I might of missed the best prices on offer.

Yes, Direct has changed the child age :( Was definitely 14 when the prices first come out, it is now 12!

the £30 deposit the balance of the deposit have to be paid within 8 weeks of the booking

Im a bit confused about this as nowhere on my printout is it asking for a remaining deposit payment . I
know i would be liable to it if we cancelled but its just saying balance due by 24th may 09.

DH for the hemera were children up to 14 when booked on 19th april 19th july 09 for 2 weeks. this is what I paid .

room 1 - 3 adults x 948 = 2844

room 2 - 2 adults x 948 = 1896
1 child(13) 257

atol protection 6
flight charges 150
discount - 400
3 adult in room reduction - 186

total 4576
sons girlfriends mum is paying her portion thank god + ive earnt £154 from quidco assuming it tracks ok
I checked the price yesterday and its now £300 more for me to book . youngest son i would now have to pay adult price which is still £948 for but then I would get another 3rd adult reduction and the on-line discount is now £600.

thats a good adult price of £773 when did you book and is that for 2 weeks
