:pele :pele . Ive just booked the hemera for next summer . Got what I think is a good price of £3859 for 4 adults 1 child with direct holidays and ive parted with my low deposit and booked . + £180 back on my quidco ;) . Sun 19th July for 2 weeks with a morning flight . (dont suppose it will stay like that though). I paid that 2 years ago for the Belcekiz beach and although ive managed to do that price for 6 this year for the aegean dream resort that is doing DIY with my cheap £100 flights . so although it sounds a lot of money I know it is a good price for our family.

On first look the system gave me a thomas cook flight at stupid o clock and returning at 6.30 the monday morning with extras to pay for luggage allowance and meals . but selected a different flight for 7.55am with monach with meals and 20KG all for a £60 total extra . think there may of been a mistake there :think because the system gave me £60 for 5 or £60 for 6 . and according to a quote I had over the phone it was about £60 per person extra for that flight . so lets see if it remains.

also taking eldest sons girlfriend which is extra but her mum is paying for that .

Im very happy and gone from worrying about where the money will come from for next year to managing to book 2 holidays this week . :tup

Oh my goodness Lyn, what on earth are you going to do for the next 12 month, you will have to reasearch your 2010 holiday. :rofl

Must say though that the Hemera looks superb. How exciting as well cos its a different part of Turkey for you. If I was going to go there I would be going at about that time of year, so we could meet up. :rofl

Brilliant price. Have you read the Credit Crunch thread that Strawberry put up ?

I can hear you muttering, credit crunch what credit crunch, from here :rofl
Mmmmmm just looked & I can get the Hemera for 3460 on 14th July for 4 from Gat with Portland which is also quite good for that date. Too soon for me to book as I like to change my mind a few times, but it's certainly a possibility. Its fully booked with them for those dates this year, as I put in 2008 by mistake first. ;)

Go with your instincts Chris . you made a very early booking for this year and look what a deal you got :rofl ..Go on, book it . Is that a good price for your family ??
.
Portlands price has gone down since yesterday . ;) there was only a £250 difference for me this morning as oppossed to about £500 yesterday but Their flight was I believe a monday or Tuesday and not as good times so it could of meant an extra 2 days off work and as Dave is self employed I have to cost that factor in.

dont know what Im going to do now . I shall be bored stiff . more research I guess or go and stand on a few street corners to pay for them .

right Im off to find that credit crunch topic

 I think that is a pretty good deal as that is for a family of 4 adults, in two rooms, in a 5* AI hotel and the Hemera is always dear. It gets excellent reports, all those Europeans cant be wrong, they like high standards and great food. Portland change their prices all the time, you just have to log in every day until you get a good one, which is a bit of a bore.

I'm not sure where I want to go though Lyn although I do agree booking early worked for me last year as that holiday is literally thousands more now & I just wouldn't have paid it. I would have just gone SC to Ichmeler or Lagos again & had a different type of holiday.

I'm going out soon, so I shall be looking for you on those street corners. I shall be thinking 'now there's a women who needs to pay for her holidays'. :rofl :rofl

Hi Lyn,I am pleased you managed to book the Hemera at last!.Its a fabulous hotel but the best part is Side itself, only 20 minutes walk along the beach.I nearly booked it a couple of weeks ago for 15th April for £272 each but my husband didnt want to go away as his youngest brother was in hospital awaiting a triple bypass!.I know its booked up for the summer but I may go for a couple of weeks in October/November.Now I have to find a nice hotel for May or June in the Side area :sun2 Jay
Have you seen the Hemera on Google earth? The images are now really clear and you can now see the fabulous old town and Roman ruins.

thanks Jay .
Actually I didnt realise the main resort of side was so close :think . I had it in my head that there were a few shops/bars and a couple of discos close by but the main resort was a few kms away . Well that is good news then . To be honest Id looked at the reviews a while ago and just decided then that it was a hotel I wanted to get to one day but havnt looked much since then other than read this thread when something new was posted .

We have google earth already on the pc but ive never used it so will have a look and see if I can work it out.

Crikey £272 each . big difference to the July price . that is a bargain but neither of you would of enjoyed it if your mind was with your BIL .Im glad to hear by the sound of things your hubby is better and holidays can resume for you both.

take care

Lyn,The pointer for the Hemera is 36 47 13 40 N , 31 22 59 60 E If that makes sense. The pool is slightly off the beach as there are gardens between the pool and beach.I am surprised there are no photos of the Hemera on the image but there is one actually at the side of the hotel which shows a disc over the road.Jay.

Hi Jay

do you mind if I ask where you found that £272 bargain price . Ive been looking for a decent cheap break for my older daughter and her boyfriend for sometime may/june and that would be perfect .

Hmm Just checked Hemera Prices with both Thomson and TC and there doesnt seem to be much in it today. Does anyone know what being a Thomson Platimum hotel really means. Do you get extra luggage or other benefits, like included meals. ?

Hi... Myself, my 2 kids (12 and 9)and my sister, her husband and son (13)are going to the Hemera for 2 weeks on the 12th August.. There were 7 rooms available when we booked it last August.. I know we are very lucky to be going as it seems fabulous.. For myself and my 2 children it cost £1,800 and my sister her hubby and son paid the same as my eldest of 12 was classed as an adult because i am a single parent..We got a free child place though.. I think thats a great price for 3 of us for 2 weeks, fully all inclusive. I booked it with Thomas Cook. Anyone going at that time please get in touch.. Happy holidays everyone :)

Hi all... i priced up the Hemera yesterday to go on 14th july 09'
First i priced it for 2 adults and 3 kids and it was just over £4000, then i priced it for 4 adults and 1 child and it was £250 cheaper,
Both quotes were for 2 bed appt, same flights and with TC.

My question is can i book my children as adults as it works out cheaper? :que

And how can they charge more to take kids to an all inclusive when they don't even drink :yikes

It will be the supplements on that large apartment Jo . Ive often found it cheaper when my 3 were younger to book 2 standard rooms than have everyone in one "large family room" these rooms usually have large supplements as they will be based on 6 adults sharing .

Yes you will be able to pay for them as adults ( I have many times) but the on line system may not let you do it so you may need to phone . If you ring a couple of travel agents you may find they offer you a better price as well . see if someone can better the price you have . try going places to start with.

I got a price from My travel over the phone at the weekend . I wanted the 2 rooms but because he couldnt beat the price I had through direct holidays he offered me the apartment for 6 with a discount in an attempt to get my business . Are your children old enough to go into a standard room on their own , if so you may get a better price for 2 standard rooms with direct holidays (part of thomas cook) or even portland .

Thanks for the replys and info i'll have a ring round. :cheers

No Lynn my kids are all under 12 so not old enough to be in a room on their own, shame because Direct holidays quoted £3500 for 2 double rooms. :cry

Just a thought but do they do interconnecting rooms?

Hi All

Does anyone know what a Family Room consists of ? It is described by Direct Holidays as follows :-

1 x Family Room, Shower, Toilet, Balcony/Terrace/Patio Charge/Reduction

Will it just be a double room with a couple of camp beds put in or will it be something better than that ?
I am priceing as 3 adults and 1 child, so would hope there would be at least 3 'proper' beds.

Also what does the charge/reduction bit mean at the end, is it cheaper because it is pricing an inferior room ? Wondering if anyone has stayed in one of these. This room is much cheaper than booking 2 x doubles.

Thanks, Doe :)
