Thanks David . Ive found a dive centre that would collect them but it's a 20km transfer so was hoping to find something a bit nearer . Did find one in side but appears to be lacking in English .

Anywhere around the pool that gets the sun all day please minione and where I can hear the music playing . Prefer to be near the front where I can see what's going on , strictly from my sunbed of course .

Have a lovely time :sun2 :sun2 . I think you come home on our flight going out . If you get a chance to get on the puter while your away feel free to give me any tips , especially those for my teens and where to find the safe action of a night and what time I need to be up of a morning ;) .

Something I've forgotten to ask . How long is the airport transfer ??

I was only intending to take sterling with me and changing whilst out there . Would that be ok or should I take it with me . I've always read lots of reports telling you to take euros to this part of Turkey but is that necessary ??

Will do Lyn, You have a great time too. So you are flying from East Mids too? I will get all the tips on where to go from my girls and I will try and find a computer. I am taking £100 in lira and changing the rest when I get there am definitely not using euros. Haven't started packing yet but Ive got all day tomorrow I suppose.

I am sure I read somewhere on this site they provide decent shampoo and conditioner so no need to take any, can anyone confirm this? Otherwise I'll be leaving the girls behind with the amount of toiletries they intend to take!
Lyn, I have the cases out of the loft and have done toiletries bag does that mean I have made a start? :rofl

Hi All,

Not long returned from the Hemera - its fabulous - you will love it!!

On the subject of money - you may find it better to take all of your lira with you. The hotel exchange rate was poor at 200 lira to the pound whereas we were getting 245 back home.

There is a bank across the road but whenever we went over it was closed.

The shops across the road were giving a good rate for your pound sterling - they seemed to like it. Anything priced in Euros was a bit of a rip off.

Just watch out for the guy in the hotel shop - everything is priced (highly) in Euros but he had a different price for everything depending on the currency and would tap away on his caluculator and come up with crazy exchange rates. I also found him very pushy (then sulked if you didn't buy something)

I would just use lira next time (and get it over here before I go).

As far as the hotel shampoo & conditioner - its fine as long as you have 'normal' hair. I used it on my daughter's hair and it was lovely. I have colour treated hair and the conditioner wasn't moisturing enough for me. The shampoo was ok - a bit like vosene!

Thanks fitz thats a big help. Any idea what rate they were giving in the shops ??. We wont be taking a lot maybe £200-300 but were really just intending to just take the sterling with us and cash it up as and when needed.

Thanks for that fiztmum, I will have to take conditioner then as my hair dries out in the sun because it's highlighted. :tup

Not sure about the exchange rate in the shops as we didn't do a lot of shopping although there is a supermarket across the road and the young lad in there spoke excellent English. He said that they would prefer to have sterling and he gave us a good rate (for instance we were paying about £7.50 for something that was priced up at 10 Euros) I was happy with that.

As well as the fact that he was really helpful and not a bit pushy (some of them nag you to come into their shops) we ended up spending about £50 on our holiday souvenirs in that shop alone - he was happy & so were we!!

Sorry Fitz I was thinking you meant you could exchange your sterling for Lire at the shops in the same way as the bank .It's quite common for shops to do that in Turkey assuming they can make a buck or two out of it if you ask them :)
