Ooooh - also just remembered - be very careful your luggage isn't over the total weight limit for your party on the way home from Antalya. We flew with Thomas Cook and check in was extremely slow as they were charging people even if they were 0.5 kilos over the limit. (I think they wanted £16 a kilo excess baggage)

They were'nt worried about individual case weights but would charge if you were over the total weight for your party - we had a limit of 80kgs (4 people) but we had about 66kgs spread over 3 cases - we were ok thankfully but lots & lots of people were leaving the check in queue and hastily opening cases and discarding whatever they could to stay in limit.

Couples mainly seemed to struggle and some who only went for a week apparently only had a 15kg allowance?

They were very strict on the weights - I 've never seen it before - it took about 1hr to check in!!

Ooh thanks for that, case can stay locked then! we should be ok because the girls' cases are definitelt lighter than ours. I know they are strict at Dalaman but wasn't sure about Antalya.

Yes, Antalya are very strict on luggage weights. However, if some of your cases have already 'gone' do NOT pay. Apparently they are not allowed to send the cases before a whole set has been checked in.

They told us we were 6kg over on the way back (we were 5kg under going, had left toiletries and a lot of clothes, and only bought 2 pairs of jeans - one of which was being worn ) - when we argued the rep came over, and asked where the bags were. When the check-in lady said they had gone, she was told 'well, you can't charge them then can you?'

Tickets arrived today so getting excited now, finally the long wait since last may is coming to an end, 3 weeks to the hemera

Ours only arrived yesterday - we go next Thursday. Thought this was a bit short notice - thank god they were all correct with no problems. Only 6 days tofay until we are at the Arum!

Hı from the sunny Hemera! Havıng fab tıme. Hotel ıs faultless, food great as ıs servıce. Met some lovely people, the entertaıners certaınly keep you entertaıned. The sunbed sıtuatıon ısnt that bad ıf you are not fussy about beıng on the grass but ıf you want poolsıde you wıll need to be up very early or do what we do, our daughter gets the towels down when she comes ın at about 3am! Later than that and you are goıng to be too late No serıously ıt ısnt that bad and they have actually brought out more loungers over the last few days. I would recommend you change your money before you get here as the exchange was better at home and there ısnt a bank nearby you have to go to manavgat or sıde. Lynn ıt ıs safe outsıde the hotel for your boys, the gırls have been to Oxıdd dısco down the road wıth the entertaıners and managed to get ın free. They also enjoyed the hotel dısco on karaoke nıght. Beach party on saturday nıght ıs not to be mıssed, we really have a some great laughs, I even joıned ın the mıss Hemera nıght! Where I came fourth out of four Have a fab tıme, ıt really ıs an excellent value for money hotel, I dont know how they make any money!

Sorry just seen prevıous post Lynn, market ıs ın Manavgat Monday and Thursday Dolmus stop rıght outsıde hotel every 20 mınutes,ıts about a 15 mınute rıde and about 3 lıra each

Just a quıck hello from a very hot and stıcky Hemera . Temps hoverıng between 38-41 on the electronıc read out above the bar durıng the day and the lowest ıt drops at nıght and early morrnıng ıs 29 degrees . hotel fabulous . Qualıty of A/I ıs excellent , food lovely . The boys are out untıl 5am most nıghts so no complaınts there . I,m up at 5.30am for a sunbed ın prıme poolsıde posıtıoın whıch even for me ıs a tad too early . fırst mornıng came down at 6am and most poolsıde beds were gone . Plenty stıll avaılable on the grass whıch to be honest looks nıcer but as ıt ıs sooooo hot I need to be ın close proxımıty to the water

Just caught the Dolmus ınto Sıde tonıght . Nıce roman town wıth plenty of hıstory and roman remaıns but extremely busy . Hubby couldnt waıt to get back .
Mıke just asked receptıon about the ATM machıne and told YES there ıs one across the road . More than expected outsıde the hotel wıth plenty of bars and Shops just outsıde .

Most evenıngs we have walked ın the dark along the beach for some cool breeze . Water temp ıs lovely and some days there ıs a good breeze but ıt kında just feels lıke a hot fan blowıng ın your face.
Durıng the day the beach ın both dırectıons ıs very busy but ıt ıs a nıce soft sand and stretches for mıles ın eıther dırectıon.

Glad you are enjoying it Lynn. We had a great time but like you say, it's incredibly hot. I was amazed at the quality of food available at the snack bar and also the cakes and ice cream at the pattisserie,also the fact that it's real Bailey's, Malibu etc. Hope you are getting your money's worth! We had a very long flight delay on our return due to a technical fault with the plane approx 16 hours so that wasn't much fun to end the holiday but all in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Enjoy everyone!

Odd question, can i buy a bucket and spade from the shops outside the hotel? don't really want to pack one!

Yes, you can buy bucket and spade,lilos etc either in hotel shop or across the road. As for sunbeds on the beach,you shouldn't have a problem nor if you don't mind being on the grass. It's poolside they go incredibly early. Have a great time

I see the temp in antalya hit 108F today, I am hoping it will cool down a bit before I go in a week on tuesday. The forecast says dropping to low to mid 90's what will be perfect.
