Until you get an answer you could look at the reviews of this hotel here the last one in February this year.

My husband and I stayed in that hotel about four years ago. It's a bit out in the sticks and not in Playa de las Americas but in a place called Playa Paraiso, a couple bays further along the coast. I think they've now included it in the area they call Adeje which I think might be stretching it a bit! If you don't have a car then you're either stuck there or you have to get the bus. There were long queues forming before nine in the morning so people were obviously anxious not to stay around the area! We thought the hotel itself was very good, food very good, bar very crowded and noisy in the evening, long queues to get served. Didn't go in the pool or in the Lido across the road, to which there is free access to hotel guests. A lot of the publicity photographs of the hotel are taken from the Lido which makes it look as if the pool is part of the hotel which is a bit misleading but it's only across a quiet road. Few shops and bars - terrible "beach" if you could call it that, rock strewn dirty sand. There was building work going on opposite but by this time it should be finished. The hotel is OK if you like lying around the pool all day but, if you like a stroll in the evenings then it'll only take you a few minutes to do the whole place.

we were there 5 years ago and agree about queues for buses, would never go back to stay there. Takes ages to get to PDLA and works out very costly. There is nothing to do at Paraiso.

Pictures of Playa Paraiso can be viewed here Some of them were taken a couple of years ago and things may have changed.

Hello billyncathy, last Newyear I went to the hotel next door the Oasis Parasio on the same lines as theFlora.Talking to people at the Flora it seems it has a
to small a bar area for it to be A I and it was a bit of a game to get a drink, this may be so as they were in a bar across the street. You do get free use of the lido if you stay at the Flora I think that is way they show it on the photos, the other thing you may wish to think on is,as four adults do you want to go to a hotel that has a lot of kids running round ( not that there is any thing wrong with kids but when you don't have any with you do you need other peoples driving you mad )
Playa Paraiso is no P D L A and is made up of one street with about 10 bars some good some bad, most seem to put on a singer most nights and/or Karaoke, there is a good Italian restaurant on the way to the Lido.
I found this resort just about right for a weeks holiday but unless you do went A I then I would say use the Oasis Paraiso rather than the Flora, see my report on the hotel review.

Hi, we are going this month, on the 16th, as we booked a last minute holiday, and are taking 6 kids with us we thought this looked a great deal, and just might give me a bit of a holiday for a change, i had read the bad points, but our aim is that theres apparently good things for the kids at night, and all mine love is the pool, they dont care about the cold water!!!!!
We are planning a couple of trips with the kids, ie aquapark, and something else, maybe boat trip or something, so hopefully this time we should get a holiday, i need to relax as had a hectic few months, so dont really care if theres not much to do :P
Will let you know how it goes

hi
after reading reports from holiday truths and trip advisor.we decided to contact thomson. to try and get our holiday changed. but they say they have not had any complaints about this location. they say there is a beach and there is not any building works going on , so if we want to change it then we will have to pay for changing the location/the hotel/the tickets/and the time/. they want £105 each (4 adults = £420 ) . so as we are not willing to pay that sort of money then we are stuck with it. even though they knew the holiday was for 4 adults and they recomended the place.

we use thomson holidays alot.

but we will never use them again after this.

our holiday is not untill september and im not looking forward to it now. as i think its going to be along 2 weeks.as i like to go for long walks as i hate sitting about all day. i hate reading books. but i think i will have to :(

Hi BillynCathy
I've been 2 playa paraiso 3 times 3 years running, each time we've stayed at the hotel fiesta oasis paraiso - the fiesta florals sister hotel.
I've had a look round the floral and its a very clean hotel, because its a fiesta hotel they have activities organised throughout the day by the fiesta entertainment team, activities such as archery and rifle shooting french bowls and other small games etc, if you are into this type of thing it will certainly take your boredom away!
The food is very good there, and I know that like the oasis paraiso hotel the florals hotel maids will make your bed and leave you fresh clean towels everyday.
When I was there last November I met 25 -30 other hotel guests I recognized from the previous 2 years that I'd been there before, so they were all happy to return to Playa Paraiso - including us!
Playa Paraiso is a quiet resort, its great if you want to unwind and relax, it has a little supermarket, giftshops and quite a few bars close at hand.
Theres the free bus that runs to PDLA each day and you can always get a taxi, I'm not sure how much that would cost you though.
The best thing I would reccomend which is what we do when we're there - is to hire a car, Los Gigantes and PDLA are quite easy to get to from Playa Paraiso, and you wouldn't feel so stranded then.
Or you could give your holiday to me - i'd happily take your place!! :D
I really hope you manage to get some enjoyment from your holiday, let us know how you get on!
P.S We are returning there again in November!! :hyper

hi debbie
glad to hear you like paraiso. if i could let you go instead of myself then i would. as it is not my type of holiday. i cant sit about a pool or beach for more than an hour. i hate sitting around. i like to be on the move all the time. when were on holiday we spend 80% of our time out of the hotel. when im on holiday i dont drive.i like to walk. but sounds like there is no place to walk too.we do enough traveling to get there. so i dont want to have to keep catching a bus to go someware decent. ive been to pdla before so i know its good there.i have emailed thomson to complain about the location they recommended. they told my wife it had to be booked that day to get the good deal. so she went ahead and booked it. she should have waited untill we had time to check here first to see what like it was. that why they say it has to be booked right away, so you dont have time to check up on the place. im not going to let it drop, i will fight it as much as i can to get this holiday changed.

I agree with you, although its a nice hotel the area is not very good for long walks, I hope you are successful in your fight with thomson, as I feel its they that made the error in urging you to book straightaway, if you're insistent i'm sure that you will be successful.
Hope it goes well for you!

:D Hi, i went to the Floral twice recently, once in Nov 04 and again in Jan 06. Ilove it there!. Never any trouble getting a drink, and the bar and lounge areas are smashing at night. The pool area is fine, plenty of games to get involved in if you want to make freinds and a lovely quiet terrace if you want to chill. Holidays are often what you make them. The lido is a great place to stroll down to and have a swim and sunbathe. The floral has an all inclusive bar at the lido so you can drink and eat ice cream all you like!.
As for walking, well get out and try it!. I made freinds with a german chap"Dieter" who came to the hotel every year for the brilliant walking in the immediate area!. Following his directions i walked across the headland towards PLDA and found a new little man made beach below the "principe"hotel, then i wandered around the bottom end of that hotel and found the most fantastic rugged landscape skirting the sea front that leads all the way down the coast to PDLA.(5 miles.).
The resort itself is fast becoming an upmarket place and within a few short years will be the place to visit. It has 1 new 5 star hotel and 2 new 4 stars. A new designer shopping outlet has just opened and golden beaches will be formed as they were in PDLA. Watch this resort go!.

If you look elsewhere on this site, there will be reviews of the hotel. We also considered staying there as we heard some pretty good things about the place but the kids chose elswhere!

If its your first visit to Tenerife, try to avoid the lucky lucky men, make sure you take a trip to Teide ( but its very cold at the top so wrap up well) and just generally enjoy the place. I am sure you will love it....

I am here NOW as i type, just popped up the road to use cheaper interent, the building works are not noticable at all, honestly, only once did we actually hear any noise, and for 10 minutes!!!!!
Food is nice, clean, so far lifts have been fine, just slow occassionally from kids pressing all the buttons, we are on the top floor..17, but kidsare having a fine time, in the pool, eating and drinking as they please, just off to find acouple of trips though for next week.
Adios
