We have just booked for a week in October at the Pelicanos. If we wanted to avoid the building work wherewould be the best place to be. Also does anyone have an e-mail address for the hotel that I can submit my request to.
We are a family of 4 so looking at the posts above we should be in the Pelicanos. I am going to email about a week before we go and request a pool view.
Can anyone help with a few questions-
Can someone confirm that if you are half board you can have lunch instead of your eveing meal?
Does the hotel do a towel hire service (for towels to use around the pool)?
Is there a hair dryer in the rooms and if yes is it very powerful?
Thanks

When we went 2 years ago you could change dinner for tea
No towel service and no hairdryers in room.

I have read on here that you can hire hairdryers from reception but you have to pay a deposit and you're only allowed them for about 20 minutes at a time.
If I were you, I'd take your own.
As for towels, you can buy cheap ones for around €3-€4 at the Chinese shops but they are very thin and not very absorbent. We took our own but bought a couple of those in our second week when some of ours were getting a bit grotty.
They were ok for lying on around the pool and because they were really cheap, we just left them behind when we came home.Sue
Unfortunate event at the Pelicanos yesterday when the pool was shut due to someone doing a pooh
in the water!!! The lifeguards eventually re-opened the pool after 3 hours presumably after calling in the pooh-busters

They should have sent for the stuck-up frigid wife from the Benidorm series to pick it up

I was just wondering if anybody knew if the Sol Pelicanos/Ocas have a hairdryer in the rooms. We're going in 3 weeks and my mums just wondering if she'd need to take hers.
No they don't have hairdryers in the rooms, she'll have to take her own. If you need anymore info on the hotel there is already a long thread running a bit fiurther down the page.
Hi would you recommend this hotel for families thinking of going in july during school holidays is there plenty of entertainment in the area outside of hotel many thanks in advance
Just back from a week in the pelicanos. As stated above because we were a family of 4 we were in the pelicanos where everyone else on our bus were in the Ocas. As suggested we emailed the hotel asking for a low floor with a pool view so we would not be bothered with building noise, we got a loverly reply saying they had taken note but it was not guaranteed. On a arrival we were put on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the building work. As it was late did not complain but did not unpack incase the building work woke us up and I would ask to be moved. No noise from the building work but room 1433 is the noisiest room I have ever been in, it must be next to a generator or a motor because it sounded like we had a bus with its engine running in the bathroom. After a night of no sleep was straight down to reception and was eventually moved to 430 and peace was restored. Apart from that we had a loverly stay and would recommend the hotel.
Murgy
We were a family with two children 9 and 12 and we never stayed in the hotel on a night. Its a short walk away from all the night life. Any more questions just ask away.

Equally Spooky that you remembered what room Sue had Danny!!!
Im glad I dont owe you money!! Best Regards - Taggy
@ Taggy
It was room 431 actually but I'm flattered that young Danny almost got it right, at least some people read my posts.Sue
Haha! That is so funny!
I was going to do what lauden did (email hotel in advance with a request) but after reading his post there is obviously no point. If I ask when we turn up at reception, what would be the chances of getting a request honoured, eg room with pool view away from building noise? Are they more likely to think "cheeky beggars, we'll give them the opposite!" Can anyone tell me what the best rooms would be, just in case I get lucky?
