I have stated in the Pelicanos/ocas twice now, last June in the Pelicanos and September in the Ocas, I could not fault this hotel at all, I am going back there on 14th June, but after reading some of these post I am quite worried.
The food was excellent while we was there last year.
We went in April this year for long weekend and couldn't fault it at all. Food was on par with most hotels.
Im just off the phone to my niece who was away to benidorm on her hen weekend .I know a lot of you on here use the pelicanos hotel for your families all year round . But this is just to warn you all that the pelicanos is another hotel being used for stags and hen partys she said there was 6/7 other parties there at hotel same time as hers .But a group from london firemen .. a few guys from scotland.... guys from england.... girls from other places ..... BUT GRIMSBY GUYS LOT did not behave at all .The things that came out there mouth was disgusting with mothers dragging there kiddies outta pools . the people that complained to reception got no were just turned a blind eye people said theyve been going for 10 to 15 yrs wont be back so sad .. just so you folks out there know i could not type in here what was said to kids or other people that wanted to chill out on loungers cheers mazza
sorry to hear you dont like the hotel Dave i knew how much you was looking forward to staying at pelicanos.
speak to you when you get back.
Danny
O dear am off to this hotel in 4 weeks, when we went 3 years ago there was quiet a few stag/hen parties, also problems with tables cleaned but it is takes no time to do it yourself i know you should not have to but if you want to eat. We were goiing to book a different hotel but because i waited too long the price had gone up and this was a the cheapest i could find probably because of problems people are getting.
I'm surprise at that Mazza.....Pelicanos/Ocas is usually at least 50% spanish tourists and that wont put up with that s**t.....I can only imagine its because the hotel was partly empty and took overflow from somewhere else.....or maybe they have changed their minds and are now allowing stag/hen parties......We have never come across either staying in the hotel in the past....it's a shame if they have fallen to this level
There were quite a few Stag and Hen parties coming out of here when we were walking past a couple of weeks ago...was same at Melia and Flamingo Oasis too.
We also had lots of stags, hens.etc at the Villa de Benidorm in March,we also will not be going back again, terrible language etc.I would stay clear of any hotels near the bars and clubs from now on.Daughter stayed at the Dalmatis in April, she loved it and said the food was very good.

Oh thanks Crispy just what I wanted to hear.

I´m in the Pelicanos on the front 1034, the building work over the road has ground to a halt, its just one big green swimming pool, another thing I´ve noticed about this hotel is the amount of large roundy groups of males use this hotel on stag doo´s
I was on the 2nd floor as my dad is in a wheelchair,we didn't come back until late most nights ourselves but slept sound with no disruption from people inside or outside the hotel.
We ate breakfast each day and dinner 5 nights, food i thought was quite good, minimal queueing(except for the toasters)and if there was not a clean table, as soon as you sat down the waitress cleared it for you and set the new places.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Not great but it never claimed to be.Bathroom door too narrow to get the wheelchair in but i had anticipated that and hired a commode, also set up a washroom(washup bowl) on the dressing table. The outside door was ample wide enough to get the electric wheelchair through.
We managed by going up and down in various lifts to get where we wanted to be.3 lifts go to the ground floor(1 of which goes to the bar salon where you can gain access to the pool area by going through the hotel maintenance area)2 different lifts go to the restaurant.
Restaurant is on a mezzanine floor, with no lift to the ground floor,so we went from floor 2 to the restaurant in one lift then after our meal went upto the 14th floor to catch a lift to the ground floor(better availability)if we were going to the pool hopefully we got the bar salon lift,if not we then got in at reception.Bit of a chew on but we managed.
There is a small stairlift from reception to the restaurant but we had an electric wheelchair which exceeded the weight limit.
All in all we had a great time and would stay at the Pelicanos again.
Also this hotel has prostitutes hanging around the outside of it in the early hours also.
in reply to your question.
no i don't work for the hotel, just a holidaymaker the same as you.
jeaniepoohs
p.s never noticed the prostitutes even though i came back to the hotel anywhere between midnight and 7.30am over the week.
Well Pepsigirl and I are off here on Fri.....it will be my 4th time staying at the Pelicanos so I'll let you know if I notice any difference on food/service etc
Threre's a new review about the Pelicanos/Ocas on the hotel reviews at the top of the page posted 05/08 . They state that the food in the restaurant was brilliant.
hi tango my son be there 3rd june he be wearing a red/white wigan warriors shirt told him watch out for you
OK Julie tell him to look out for the heads with the welsh dragon towels on the sunbeds
We will be there behaving ourselves, won't we Tango???
Apart from the food, of which breakfast was ok and the stag and hen crowd this hotel was nice, also jeaniepoohs, the rowdyness never started until the week you went home, for the last fews days I was there, I returned home yesterday no stag doo's were there and it was quiet again, well as quiet as it can be when you're at the front of the hotel.
I liked how you could hire a fridge for 30€ a week and also the safe hire was very reasonable.
It's the flamingo oasis for us next may.
you give me report when you get back
