Hello.
The rooms at Son Baulo don't have hairdryers. We have just returned from our 5th stay here and we had a fantastic time. It is a lovely place.
Have a great time.

Anyone know if The Son Baulo Hotel still has kids clubs during the day. I know its no longer a super family resort but the brochures still say it has Kidzone?
Reviews recently don't say much about the kidzone

The hotel still has a kidzone club. We didn't use it this year as we booked with the hotel direct, but we have used it in the past. They have lots of activities in the club during the day. I think the 3-5 years meet at 10am, the 6-8 years at 1pm and the 9-12 years at around 3.30pm. During peak times it is best to get there early as it does get very busy. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, I don't suppose you know anything about the family5 rooms, trying to find out the best room no's. for pool and sea views

We have stayed in the 5 bedded family rooms twice. Last year we booked through Thomson and had a family room. They are two inter-connecting rooms, with two bathrooms and three balconies. One balcony faces the beach and two look out onto the pool. Wonderful views each way. One room has three beds and the other 2 beds. They are great rooms with lots of space. This room was on the second floor and I think the room number was 202. This year we booked direct with the hotel and stayed on the third floor, room 302. This room is the same as the other family room but has a four poster bed, sofa bed, tv, fridge and hairdryer. I think that you can now upgrade direct with the hotel when you get there for this type of room.

Hi 8)

possibly looking to book here for next June if we can get a family room. However, just wanted to ask if anyone has been bothered by mossies coming from the water next door to the hotel?

Thanks in advance 8)

We have never had a problem with mozzies when staying at the Son Baulo. My mother-in-law normally attracts them but never had a real issue with them here.

Anyone know the transfer time approx to the Son Baulo, Bus transfer with Thomson so I assume there is a few drop offs
Reply
The transfer will take about an hour and 20 mins from the airport. There is a Thomson Gold hotel just up the road from the Son Baulo and they have a first drop off policy.Providing that there are some people booked for that hotel, you will be the second drop off. This has been the case on the many occasions we have been.

We are gong to the Son Baulo in May and after having read reveiws and postings on this site we are looking into upgrading room type. We have booked through Thomson and the only room type available with them was the standard room. There are four of us, 2 adults, 2 kids 10+8, and were wondering what the superior rooms are like if anyone has stayed in one? Have already emailed the hotel who came back with an upgrade price of around 170 euros. Is a superior room the one with an extra bedroom, TV etc? Is there a difference between these and family rooms? Any advise would be welcome! Thanks in advance. :)

The superior rooms are two-interconnecting rooms and are lovely. You get two big rooms, three balconies and two bathrooms. There is a television in one room. Not many english channels on it though. We had a four poster bed in one room and a sofa bed in the other. The views from the rooms are beautiful. We had two balconies that looked over the pool and the other one that looked over the wonderful beach. We stayed in one of these rooms last May. We have previously stayed in a 4 bedded room. These are fine but you don't get as much room. We also found that the children really enjoyed having their own room.
If you have any more questions, please let me know. We are going to the Son Baulo in July for our 6th visit!

Thank you bauloprincess for the info. Bit confused now though. Are the superior rooms different to the suites? What we really want is four proper beds, not a sofa bed. Cant stand making the wretched things each morning!! Are these the interconnecting rooms mentioned and as a rough guide do you know how much extra would they be? Have emailed hotel but they've not got back to me yet. Sorry for all the questions, but as you have been here a lot thought you'd know the most!!
