Hi Kate
The room that we had last year with the sofa bed in was booked directly with the hotel. We did it all DIY last year. These rooms are what they class as the suites I think! I have to admit to being a bit confused now!! When we went the time befire that, we had inter-connecting rooms that had 3 beds in one room and 2 in the other. No sofa bed. This was before the hotel started offering an upgrade. I hope this makes sense. Things have changed quite alot over the years we have been to the Son Baulo. Your best bet is to speak to the hotel direct if you are not sure. We have telephoned them before and they speak wonderful english. Are you doing it DIY or with Thomson?
we went to this hotel last year, i would deffo recommend upgrading to a suit as the standard rooms are very small, the suits are very roomy, and have large balconies overlooking the sea, as there are only 8 i would recommend booking one by email asap .......as a whole the hotel is a bit dated but clean and the staff are helpful..and the food is good..its no longer a Superfamily.
whats the difference between the suites and the adjoining rooms which i assume will be what i will get for 5 of us?
We have just been told we are getting room suite 300A with just the sea view, tried to get 302 but already booked. is that next to 302?
Also do the suites have a sitting area? in the photos on their website it looks like it
I think room 300A is opposite room 302. It's just across the corridor I believe. We had a look at that room when we were there. It is lovely. Have you got five people in your room? If so then I believe there is a sofa bed in one room that will be made up into a bed. If not then you will have a sofa to sit on. We also had a couple of nice chairs in our room as well.
Hope you have a lovely time. I am sure you will. The Son Baulo is lovely. We are going on the 26th and we can't wait.
When you get back would you be able to tell us the exchange rate at the hotel for sterling travellers cheques please. And also could you tell us if the beach has got umbrellas on it this year. When we went last year they had taken them down. Although this may have been because it was earlier in the year.
If there is anything else you need to know before you go, please let me know. Have a fantastic holiday, BauloPrincess.
when we were there at the beginning of May.
Rate was 1.229 for sterling TC in hotel, 1.27 at cash point down the road
Thanks Jolliepostie for that info, Bauloprincess.
Good deal me thinks! Good on them
Sounds a great deal. Have a wonderful time. Bauloprincess.
This ismy first post
I'm off to the Son Baulo with my family on the 22nd of July. I'm so excited! It seems that everybody on here is praising the hotel, which is something of a relief!
Just a quick question, do the rooms have a television?
x
thanks
Just back, excellent hotel and location. Great food, and bar service. travellers cheque rate was 1.22, umbrellas on beach and by pool.
Wondering if anyone that has stayed at this hotel can tell me if there is a library as I see in the brochure
it states a reading room, just trying to cut down on luggage weight so I can pack more clothes and keep
the husband happy.
Thanks
Lyn
Its not an "official" library, but guests leave unwanted books which you can read (and return). There was about 50/60 books to choose from, about half reasonably new. I quite happily found a couple of decent books. Its sited in the adult only quiet area .
Thanks George for the helpful info. I am sure I will find something to keep me amused.
How do I book a superior room that the hotel advertise?. Thomson options are upgrade to sea view +£84 or 4 bed room +£112. 2 adults & 1 kid travelling.
If you are looking to book a superior room at the Son Baulo, the best thing to do is email the hotel direct. The email address is hotelsonbaulo@teleline.es. They are normally really helpful and reply quickly to any request. They also speak very good english.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards
Bauloprincess.
Have booked anyway through Thomson whilst there is free kids place and I'll see if the hotel can upgrade. Thomson phone line said there was no superior rooms just sea view or a 4 bed room.
Thanks again.
Sharon
They offer a twin room not extra cost/ or +£84 for a seaview/or £112 for ???
The hotel direct offered to upgrade direct for 10 euros a day for room seaview, tv & fridge ? but say Thomson should be able to book a room including fridge & tv..
Thomson offer an upgrade to family 5 room ? or room with sea view, but can't say if room has tv & fridge!!
Can you help if been and booked thru Thomson ??? PLEASE
