we bought an apartment in hunters valley in may 2004. we were told the roads would take about 5years as they are buildinga lot of properties. we were there last in september and went to the council offices to see the plans for the roads etc in the valley (we are on the hillside). a young lady filled out a complaint form for us regarding the lack of roads and the lack of lights in the valley, she said to get as many people as possible to go the offices and lodge a complaint.we also went to didim to see the mayor when he had an eveninng meeting with all residents of altinkum.
when it rains it does get really muddy at the bottom of the valley and we have seen the odd car stuckin the mud. in september we saw some movement of drains being put in and lorry loads of soil being tipped near the local mosque, the small road being very bad in the rain.
i would try and buy up the hillside. it is only ten mins to the beach and is a really good spot to buy. we do not regret buying there at all. our builder actually is ageologist who did the report on the valley for building. also, all buildings in altinkum are buit to withstand earthquakes and we feel really safe where we are. hope this is of help.
