Well can you believe that we have been back for 6 days after another fantastic 2 weeks in Marmaris. we stayed at The Sun Aparts which are in the Armutulan area near to club julian.
These aparts are family run so much so that Granddad AKA Ali Baba (83 years) makes an appearance now and again, raki in hand :-)
The Sun aparts are not the ritz but clean comfortable excellent staff all round and boy they must have the biggest rooms in marmaris so much so the suitcases looked like match boxes :-)
During the day the staff leave you alone to laze about the pool only bothering you when your efes or cold fanta has arrived (big thanks to Charlie, Sam and Jake, oh best not forget Katrina)
At night there are the usual shows to which I am sure you are all aware of and seen and also the original karaoke show!!
This being our 7th visit to Marmaris we did not do much in the way of trips as, as the saying goes (been there got the tee-shirt) this said on the 2nd day we did go for a Turkish bath, yes my first ever one, and boy it wont be my last anyone thats never been should go, we had a great time, we booked via Ozzy who's just around the corner to the sun aparts and were taken to club candan of all places, 2 hrs of pampering all for £6 cant be bad.
We did hire a jeep for a couple of days, yes i know i'm mad but those road wont get the better of me, although those mountain roads look even scarier in daylight!!
So off we set into the real turkish outback and came across a village called Bozburn nice little turkish village and a beach we had to ourselves.
On the way back we called at Turgut waterfalls, 2nd day we went to Icmeler, kis kumi beach , turunc and a place called ciftlik again all nice little places you dont get to see sitting by the pool.
We ate in various restaurants all very nice and again can you believe after 7 years we made our first visit to the taj mahal, which was out of this world, well worth a visit those that have never been. i did venture down to the Ibrox Bar, not what i expected but good all the same i actually knew the guy the runs it as we go to his "always restaurant" each year, although at the time i did not know it was his!
So there our 2 weeks came to an end and we packed our cases ready for dalaman, After reading all about the excess charges on kg i decided to but some scales perfect, worked a treat going out came to use them coming home ... Hmm they decided to work backwards so i was -20kg!!!
well -23kg on one:oops: So not really knowing what they weighed we set off, got to check in and the 3 girls were waiting, gambled and went for the youngest looking girl behind the desk, perfect first case on then 2nd then the third then....... sorry sir you are 5 kg's over, please go and see the lady on the next desk

So off i went not very happy, hello sir you are 5kg's over £7 per Kg please pay £35.. Err No!!
I explained that although my cases were 5kg's over my hand luggage was minimal, no sir you have 3 hand luggage bags, this lead to me requesting that the scales were put on where she was sitting i placed my hand luggage on the belt and collectively it weighed 6.7kg, i expressed that my cases are returned i will take 5kg out and put in my hand luggage and still be 4kg under.
Well she was not amused, grunted gave me my boarding cards and said go...yippee stand firm and you will win.
well those of you that are still awake after reading this thanks for doing so.
Roll on October where i will be searching for that last minute cheap week away to get my xmas bargains at the bazaar
