hi all, i get my first pay packet since qualifying from uni and starting my new job at the end of the month and i would like to treat myself and my fiance to a weekend away mainly just to spend some quality time together as we live with parents at the mo and dont get to see each other a great deal with work and for me to treat my other half for a change! at first i though a bed and breakfast or not too exenpensive hotel somewhere either seaside, city or countryside but i have since seen these lovley log cabins/lodges which i would love to stay in but the ones i have seen are quite expensive.
has anyone got any ideas, not sure how much i want to pay not too expenise but i think it would depend what was invloved in the property, we want to go for 1 or 2 nights at the end of feb fri and sat. we are 23 and 24 and live in staffordshire i would drive for up to 2 hrs i think.
thanks!
Have you tried Hoseasons, they do lots of short breaks and have various priced Lodges across the UK.
I have stayed at Faweather Grange Lodges in Yorkshire and have to say they where worth every penny, but where approx £350 per weekend break.
Also in the Lake District try Hilthwaite House it has some really great offers on lately.
Have fun
Liz
Quite a lot of log cabins going on on this site in various locations!
or for a city break it would have to be York
great thanks for your replys, i have tried hoseasons but they seem to start from a minimum of 3 nights which we cant do for this break unfortunatly, but i will have a look at those other sugestions, i think £350 for 3 nights for two people sounds reasonable for one of those lovley lodges so maybe i can find something a little cheaper for just two nights, thankyou
Have you thought about Burmingham? Or Coventry?
Look at where I've been, see if that could suit you. And you can make reservations even for 2 nights. There is no minimum.
1. The Combe Abbey Hotel :
2. Mercure Brandon Hall Coventry Hotel :
i do some work for these people.. its a B&B but take a look at some of the pics for the rooms and you'll see its not your average place, and perfect for a couple. southern side of the peaks. Check out the 'red room' and the studio hideaway.
