Can anyone help us we are two couples who have booked a holiday with RCI, we booked the holiday in January, exchanging our two time share weeks in Portugal for two in Malta. Our accommodation consisted of a four star studio apartment with catering facilities, the apartment we were offered had no catering facilities so we were told we would have bed and breakfast plus the option of half board when we got there for £50.00 per week per person, to which we agreed and paid the deposit for the flights plus the £109.00 adminstration fee. Yesterday we received a letter from the Hotel confirming our booking and advising us that on arrival we would have to pay ML26 a night for half board, this would amount to about £1,178.00 per couple (there are four of us). On contacting RCI and telling them this was an error, which they admmitted was their error due to a misunderstanding with the Hotel, we were told our only option was to lump it and pay or have our holiday refunded. I think that they are in breach of contract and that they should make good the error that they have made in full or at worst in part. We are tied because their are four of us who would find it very hard to rescdhedule our holiday dates at work and try and book an alternative holiday plus we will loose the value of our time share exchange, to make matters worse it appears that RCI had knowledge of this but never contacted us themselves when there might still have been time for us to do something about it.
Any help please ?
