Watch your luggage weight at Dabolim airport - yesterday in our queue someone was over by 10 kilos and it cost them £80 !
Reply
You're only allowed 20 Kg - yet he/she was 10 Kg overweight.

That's a lot of junk someone must have bought. :?

That's what we thought- shesaid they were grandkids presents. Max did you recommend 1-95 - if so it was fabulous we went a couple of times

:) Whats 1-95? they've been really hot on the luggage for a couple of years now - dropping a couple of 100 rupee notes used to do the trick but i'm not sure now! ha ha!

Wow 10kg!!! bet they loved them down at Anjuna!!

A handful of 100 rupee notes as you put the cases on the check-in scales always seems to miraculously resolve any problems with overweight luggage :tut

Hi can any ladies who have already been to Goa tell me are they allowing an handbag and a hand lugguge bag to be taken onto the plane on the way home in Dabolim Airport. Many thanks :)

Is this personal experience Roma?

Is this, maybe, a case of the old 'foot on the scale' trick by the check in staff? It's a very old one that they are very good at, usualy aimed at elderly passingers.

LGW - 1 piece of hand luggage, so you need to put your handbag inside your hand luggage.

GOI - they don't appear to mind.

In goa dont seem to, but last year we saw people in front have to put hand luggage on scale as well as cases, so if over had to pay. Also someone saw check in man put foot on belt to up kgs on cases!

They don't mind how much hand luggage or care about what you are carrying, so long as you don't have an evil device called a lighter :rofl

That was all they asked us the other day - lighters.

Yes you're right Goldenlady, we had our hand luggage weighed last March although they didn't last month. So yet again, nothing is consistent.

Don't get me on the subject of lighters Goaal, I could never understand why they confiscated them and yet Monarch was selling them on the flight :? (Not sure if they still do though). Also again, not everyone gets them confiscated, perhaps it depends which queue you go through

Fizzy2 thankyou for your reply :)

Miccie - I'm afraid to say that it is personal experience - on several occasions. There was no need for feet on the scales - we were well over and knew it! :no

It's just the way things work there. It's not big and it's not clever but it saves a lot of money!
