Im scared enough as it is

Doesn't make good reading but the threat has, and will, always be there. It's just as safe going to Goa as it is to London.
We should never give in to these cowards and live our lives as normal.

Sorry Elliebee to be the bearer of such news. :(
My other half and I are going soon as well. If it's any consolation, the Foreign Office here in the UK have not upgraded their advice.
Don't let it spoil your holiday. I intend to put it to the back of my mind and take simple precautions as I would have in any case. As I said let's hope it's a case of being over cautious.

djk. Ive just done a Google news search. Lots of sites saying the same thing. What to do? I may phone my TA and see if they have been told anything regarding traveling.
Ive waited all bloody year for this holiday :rage

im going on monday and they do not deter me for one second! :) i feel as much at risk as if i were going to london or any other place for that matter.if anything they will only be more security which can only be good, i will sit in the sea with my bottle of kingfisher and ill be safe! :) i agree with you spike, dont let those cowards spoil your hols.

Elliebee. All the sites are quoting the same single source....so really there's only one warning, being quoted by many. Your TA will not be able to change anything unless the UK foreign office issues a statement advising people not to travel. Listen to what others are saying as well. Goa is no less safe than other parts of the world.

I am going this weekend too and feel daunted - on a more positive note though the security should be better, I would imagine.

You are all so right, I would feel threatened shopping in London around the christmas period. Im going to take Spikes advice and not let the :swear ruin my Holiday.

Roll on 23rd December :fly

:swear them, Is there really anyplace that is not considered a terrorist threat, including the UK, don,t even consider giving in to these :swear When your time is up it is irrelevant where you are, but I would be happier on a sunbed drinking a cocktail, than shoveling 6 feet of snow from my drive,

The Israelis have been coming for years and you can bet your last rupee that their government employees have been coming with them as well. Enjoy your holiday - I will

This looks better, seems the Goa authorities are more optimistic than the Israelis. Happy Hols. :)

But the Goan authourities would say that; it would like the Thai government trying to ally UK holiday maker fears over the murder incident last year. Still, there would be lots of last minute bargains to be had especially over Christmas.

Wouldn't take a lot of notice of anything the Goan police say! Unless they can extract a bung from the terrorists, they're unlikely to spot them!

We were in Goa until last weekend and there was a great deal of security everywhere. There were armed, plain clothes police on the beaches and whilst we were in the Delhi Darbar, an armed police team came through twice. One of these guys told us he was a part of a team sent down from Delhi, "because the Goan police are corrupt". Well blow me down - can you believe it?

As everyone says, you can get blown up over here. Find a quiet shack, pour yourself a beer and chill out.
