Our BMI baby flight was uneventful and we landed at Malaga airport just ahead of schedule. I'd read info on HT about how easy the trains were to use so thought we'd be adventurous and give it a go

We got off the train at Torremolinos and took a 6 euro taxi journey into La Carihuela. As our hotel is on a pedestrianised street the driver dropped us off at the end and we walked the very short journey from there. The only bad thing was that we arrived in the rain and it hardly stopped all week apart from the last 2 days when we had a good bit of hot Spanish sunshine

As the weather was very unpredictable we walked far more than we normally would have, mostly along the front browsing in shops or stopping for a drink or bite to eat. We also walked along the main road into Torremolinos which didn't take long at all. We wandered along some of the back streets and into the montemar area.
On the last two days we sat on the beach for a good few hours enjoying the sunshine and a sangria or two. There seemed to be more bars and restaurants than I remember from 3 years ago but that might just be my memory playing tricks. Having said that they were very quiet even late at night.
I'm sure we'll return again for a 3rd visit before too long. I just hope the weather will be better next time.
