Got back last night and had a great time!
Weather on first week was rubbish mostly rainy and pretty chilly. Weather last week was great, sunny and getting hotter by the day.
Flights were great with Balkan on time both ways. Bourgas Airport was very good too (at this time of year anyway) but that will change now that the season is underway.
We were getting 2.42 in the crown exchange in the first week but by the second week it was at 2.37. We exchanged money at a bank in New Nessebar and got 2.45.
Now the big question that lots have asked and I'm afraid to say that Sunny Beach has got a bit more expensive this year. It all depends on where you go for a drink or a meal though. Condor is now 1.40 for a lager and Djannys is about the same. The bars near the front are around 3 leva for a big beer. Meals have also gone up a bit on price but you can still eat out cheaply but not in the main bit around the Kuban or on the sea front as they are up to 3 times the price of the places further back from the main area. Best place we went in Sunny Beach was opposite Condor called Fara which is a lovely place and still very cheap and serves great food. For a salad starter, large pizza, roast chicken and veg and a couple of large drinks each was under 20 leva for 2 of us and the beer is still 1 lev in there. We did have meals in Ravda where our apartment is and the prices are cheaper there. Cigarettes are the same as last year 2.60 leva for victory blue.
The resorts were just getting a bit busier last week with most places open by then. You can still get the fake designer jeans for around 40 - 50 leva.
I did get a couple of mosquito bites and so did my husband so take a spray with you.
Best restaurants for us in Sunny Beach this time were
1. Fara
2. Condor
3. Djannys
We going back 2 weeks today with my son and his friend who are in their early 20's and I can tell the younger people going about the clubs and bars for that sort of age group.
