We just got back from Beni yesterday,stayed at the Flamingo Benidorm and still as good as previous.
Met Sanji and her better half and she conned me into buying her a drink

,then we went for a walk into the Old Town and she forced her better half (Dave) to buy a drink,and they say the Scottish are tight!!!
Only kidding it was great to meet them again for the third year running and looking forward to going back next year.
Coming back,the airport is bedlam where you have to take a tray and put all your stuff into it to go through the metal detectors with the security making sure the que's were straight and everybody moved up quick,would not like to do this in high season Maryb says it looked like people going into jail the way we were all carrying our clothes and hand luggage in the trays,but still enjoyed it all.

Oh I hate return journeys at the best of times. This sounds like it's gonna turn me to Victor Meldrew mode :evil:

but it is an essential part of travel these days isn't it? :roll:

I think we all hate the return journey....makes it so final doesn't it
Are they still making you take your shoes off as well
Any new acts on out there you can recommend?

no you keep your shoes on,but some people had to take their belts and watches off,other's didn't,i think it just depended what queue you were in.We saw the Ricky Stevens and the Cher tribute both in wheeltappers,liked Ricky Stevens,Cher was a bit manic,never stopped talking and moving but ok though i feel in the wheeltappers there is someone always watching to make sure that as soon as you finish youre drink you must order another straight away.
Saw Elvis in Jokers,he was ok for being dead,liked the pub friendly staff.
We were in Sinatras and saw Ricky someone who was trying to sing,but i think he was drunker than Maryb.
I still enjoyed my holiday but im waiting for Sanji to send a cheque to cover my expenses

Hi Garryb - Glad you had a good time again in Beni. Is Colin the Huge doorman still working at the Wheeltappers?...Biggest bloke i've seen in Beni!! Also i wonder if you noticed what acts were on at the new Rockerfellas on Calle Gerona?

Oliver is the only act I know was def appearing at the new venue though he was only doing a short stint as he's going back home to open a bar after selling his old nightclub in County Durham

Not sure Wiganfrank. They used to be on at the Old Rockerfellas, but since it has now been taken over and updated by Wheeltappers owners, not sure if they will be there, if if they are anywhere else. I'm going on Friday for a few days so will have a look.

Hiya Taggy
had a lovely time, but it could have been better because I've had every ailment under the sun whilst here.
Had a massive blister on my foot that I ended up popping with a sterile needle, which then turn nasty and I've spent a fortune on "gel" plasters and hobbled around.
Then I had a mouthful of ulcers and it was really painful to eat....now I've got a bit of a cough, plus I was Tom and Dick one night. :roll:

So much for the new laws saying no antibiotics sold over the counter anymore...I've went yesterday to the Farmacia and bought a load of Ammoxacillin. :roll:

Not a drinking woman, but had brandy put infront of me and have decked it down like poison....other than all that, I've had a great time.
