Unless you have a very big reason to stay in the UK get yourself out to Goa for at least a month or so, you know it can cost peanuts to live there and when you are ready to go home to look for a job, you will look and feel a whole lot better at a job interview also you won't give a sh** if you get the job or go back to Goa for a few more months
Good Luck in what ever you decide
Thanks meagain. Max, another time I'd have laughed along with you, just not today
gooner fan. Hope things pick up for you soon x
So sorry to hear that, but Goa won't be the same without you!!
I would have thought after New Year you should be able to get a SC appartment thats OK from 15000 Rps a month
I'm sorry to hear the bad news about your job.
I hope you find somewhere good to stay and that things are better for you after you return.
Regards
Sorry to hear your news Alan.

Just trying to lighten things up a bit!
Go and recharge your batteries Goonerfan then you'll be ready for anything when you get back. Been there so know what a tough time you are having. All the best. Fizz
I'd just get a flight and you can sort yourself out with some accommodation when you're over there - there's no shortage.
These days many of us have experienced the redundancy thing but it did most of us a favour - making you move on and do things that maybe you wouldn't have done otherwise. Carpe Diem!

If you got some redundancy and have any prospect of getting a job at some time then I would go with one proviso.
Have enough in the bank to last you 3 months on your return.
Its a great idea having a break in the sun but reality has to bite sooner or later.
Papa
You know where we will be.
goonerfan,so sorry to hear about your job, although it`s never a good time this time of year must be especially difficult, wishing you all the best for 2010 x
I'm not sure how low cost long term rentals are, the place we stay is 750rps per night, I guess that might be on the expensive side long term, however they do have long term stayers who more than likely are not paying the same rate. However it is a lovely place. All around our area (Sinquerim) there were countless adverts for flats to rent, I am sure you will find somewhere reasonable.
Despite all wishing you a happy Christmas and all good wishes for the new year
yes there are lots of places out here that are available, more vacancies than in the past few years come and join in the extreme drugery of constant sun, kingfishers, honey bee,"coffee" at the meets and friendship dont know how i will cope with it for the next few months just have to live with it i suppose

....and you've probably got the winter fuel allowance as extra spending money too.
