I don't go abroad to eat English food so please do not assume! I had the Desti at the Turkish Ivy and it was lovely. I'm glad you had nice meals at the Golden Leaf but that was not our experience.
I also tried the menemen at another restaurant - I wasn't keen on it, but adore other Turkish dishes like the guvec.
you are very correct in what you are saying, but this is tourism and suply and demand is the key to all buisness
so as long as there are those that travel and will always require there daily fry up the demand for bacon and sausages will carry on and the fish and chips,there will always be people like ourselves and many others that want the true food and culture experience this great country has to offer.
However. I WILL be packing the P.G. tips. Hubby can't function without at least 3 cuppa's.
I just hope we manage to find skimmed milk, as he can't tolerate other types of milk.
there is skimmed milk although its not quite like ours avalible in migros and azda
