From the outset I don't want to bore anyone as I tend to do much of the same things when I go to Club Turquoise in Marmaris and will try not to make this sound like a copy of my July report ... Arrived Glasgow airport on Friday the 10th. First thing I notice is the uniformed police officers bearing their Heckler & Koch firearms. Wonder if there is increased security then realise the Court case is underway in London and rightly so a more 'overt' appearance gives some reassurance. Straight to Terminal 2 housing all the TC gates, must have been about ten of them open and more or less straight through. Cases half a kg over each. (No charge but more of this later). Scottish school hols of course and International Departures was chockers but still managed to find a wee corner where the good lady and I could share a bottle of wine (£10.50 .. not bad)... (should have said she's worth it ...) Flight on time and found ourselves on an Airbus , 2 seats , aisle, 4 seats, aisle, 2 seats that sort of thing. Good flight, no problems and picked up our luggage after about 45 mins in total (more of that later too)
Private transfer and we found ourselves at our second home Club Turquoise around 0710 hrs. Knackered ... however our spirits were lifted as our room was decorated with banners and balloons acknowledging our 28th wedding anniversary !!! (Banners and balloons courtesy of my sister in law and neice). More to come though as in the bedroom was a stunning bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champers courtesy of Club Turquoise. Did I mention knackered earlier ? well my cure for tiredness is a bottle of bubbly at 7.30 am and all the tiredness seems to go ...
Realise I'm rambling a bit here so will summarise more. Weather - Fantastic and around 27o every day except one when it was cloudy. Did have one thunderstorm at night but the good old roof of the Seagull Bar kept the rain from our heads. Food - twice in the apartments (excellent) Garden, Taj, Adam & Eves, and also tried Tiffany's down on the front and found it very good too.
Costs - Turquoise have lowered the price of their drinks and now is 4.50 ytl for a full pint (not a large beer, a pint). Still paying much the same for food as we did in July but the exchange rate was better at initially 2.30 then 2.40 ytl before we left.
Resort - quiet as expected as it is beginning to close up but still plenty of places open. Noticed the traffic was a helluva lot less that in July so decided to hire a scooter for two days !!! (wife just assumed mid life crisis). Two days, 50ytl, and scooted all over the resort, fabulous ... even went through to Icmeler on the 100 cc flying machine... always wanted to stop at the viewing area near the peak of the hill and wasn't disappointed, stunning views.
Staff at Turquoise - Entertainers Yilmas, Compi, Reece and Ozzie still there. Other staff still there Jumali, Senol, Erkan (now married !!) Tuna, etc, sorry if I have missed anyone.
Also met with Mys123 (Myra) and her husband Ian and the girls who kindly introduced themselves. Seemed they too had a great time and met up with old friends down at both Alize and Aida.
Back home to Glasgow Airport, good flight and thought what a great holiday. Waiting for our luggage, waiting, waiting and waiting ... one and a half hours later before they appear (not good enough...) Still, didn't spoil what was a terrific October break and roll on next July ... guess where we are going ???

I am not brave enough to hire wheels but I bet it was a nice experience.
But I cant understand anyone keep wanting to go back to the same place.
You wouldnt catch me keep returning to the same resort.
Gene
Thanks for the report and congratulations for your anniversary - but now am awaiting all the 'more of that later' bits
For us Club Turquoise has everything we need for a holiday. I agree many other places have the same facilities too and sometimes better. What they don't have though is certain staff who we have known for ten years and who treat us like family. Irfan the manager is also a close friend and the whole mixture of location, people and how we are treated makes it the place we want to go back to year upon year.

The 'more of that later' bits are in there ... just cleverly disguised !!

Great report. Was nice to meet you and Liz.
We too had a safe journey home. Got in the house at 6am. 40 weeks tomorrow till we return so 38 for you.
Couldnt agree more. We love to go back to Marmaris. People there who we have known for a long time and always play a big part in how we enjoy our holiday.
Hi Myra
Hope your wife did lots of shopping in those lovly shops opposite Taj!!!
lmao counting sleeps.... don't get me started already!!!
Hey Myra.... glad you had a fab time too... just one ikle question... how did Myra know who you were Wilson!?
We love to go back to the same place too.... the welcome and special treatment you get is lovely.... how nice of them giving you flowers and champers! awwwww!
Happy anniversary btw hun!
Love Nikki xx
ooops it posted it twice! x
Couldn't think of a better place for our celebration. I had pm'd Myra previously with a brief description of myself, not too difficult to find as all the staff call me Wilson too ... and yes hoodies were the order of the day for the wife out of them blasted shops !! (still keeps her happy ...)

The shops opposite the Taj are fab. We call that bit Cheap Street. A family we met in Turkey a couple of years ago started us saying that.
we are going to the turquise next july the 13th for the first time, been to marmaris many times. Really looking forward to it now thanks to wilsons post.
Awww Wilson you were there same time as me If I had have known I would have came up to see you all, I was staying in Negris beach, great report as usual I'll post mine when I get time!
You will love it there ... downside is I'll be there at the same time
Anna
Passed the Nergis several times, no doubt they have really developed the place out front over the years. We even saw people with their loungers nearly out onto the walkway ... just had a thought, have I got the right Nergis ? the one next to the Garden, Captains etc. There is something in my old grey matter that there used to be a Nergis Select or something similar.

Erkan married????????????????
A text will be winging its way Turkey bound when i get up in the morning
Erkan married!! Jeezo
The Negris beach is near the Captains and yes loungers near the walk way! I don't think they realised there was a roof top to sunbathe on!
Anna.
Erkan has married his girlfriend from Middlesborough ... seems they are expecting a happy event soon He seems happy enough, appears Irfan did the translating at the wedding.
