it lets me book a holiday to Kardamena Kos on 7th june (07.10 flight) so there are flights available still to Kos on that date, just gone back to do same thing again for KABC and it now says that there currently are no available holidays for dates right through until sept 06 (thats when I stopped scrolling through) Firebird - be interesting to see why sort of reply, if any that you get back.

I dont know if anyone will be interested but F/C have announced today that the Kefalonia ABC will now not open till half way through June! Lots of people flying 30th May let down....with very little notice!

It might be worth trying to book a holiday tot he other ABC, I think it was Kefalonia. At work at the minute so will try when I get home. Fingers crossed!

If you dont get a response firebird, maybe watchdog or similar might be interested in the photos?

How long can FC carry on letting people down. Why don't they lay their cards on the table now and set a more accurate date. Soemone needs to throw a few books at them! Maybe 2006 brochure!

Hi Everyone. I am new to posting here but have been avidly watching the discussions on a regular basis. I am due to go to Kos on 31st May. There are three families going and between us we have 5 boys aged 10-12 and a girl of 9. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at the situation at the moment!

Hi all just tried to book KABC myself, on the fc website no chance (holiday chosen not available) up to 4th October 2006, must be fully booked. When i tried for the Marianna studios in Tingaki there was no problem 7-15am flight still available for the 28th June.

Have just spoken to my local First Choice Travel Agent. Got the same Bull S**t as the rest of you. Still on track for opening on 24th May. I have started looking for alternative holidays for 19th July.

Have also tried to book today on website without any joy - telling us there is no holidays available. To me this is quite worrying. Tried to call customer services but they shut at 5.30pm. Our group is really considering booking somewhere else. After looking at the photo's we just cannot see how the hell it will be ready on time.

Have they stopped people booking because it won't be ready!!!

looks like FC are not telling the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!! i asked today if everything ok for the 28 june and was told unless you get a letter then all good. Ajenkins another of our party asked the same question and was told doesnt look good.

Hi all,
I was due to go to KABC on 28/6 but also decided to cancel at the beginning of this week and make other plans for late summer instead.
Gutted.
I'm still convinced that everything would be ready(forever optimistic) but my husbands not and after many long discussions we decided that as our youngest will only be 16 months at the time of travel, it's not worth the risk as things can be stressful enough with a toddler in tow!

The thing that worried me most is that as long as it's open, it seems First Choice don't have to advise anyone in advance if the facilities aren't ready. I just can't believe with the bad press they've received in the past, they can't get their act together and start being honest with everyone.
I read in the paper today that only 13% of all travellers leaving British Airports are on charter flights with more and more choosing DIY. As travel agents are struggling to survive, you would think they would do all they can to keep customers but obviously not.

Anyway-rant over, I'll keep my fingers crossed for everyone and wish you all a fantastic holiday.

I can't believe it!!. Last year i was booked to go to Lanzarote for two weeks with First choice when I got a letter from them saying there where major works happening at my time of stay, so I rebooked for 1 week at the same price in majorca (i wasn't very happy). Anyway I have given them another chance and how do they seem to have repaid me . I have to pay the balance this week, what should I do?

GNigel, i would recommend paying the balance. You go on the same date as me and i am paying the balance shortly. If you dont pay the balance then they do not have to give you anything back. They may keep your deposit etc. If you pay in full and then they cancel your trip then they are obliged to sort out a holiday of similar type to the cancelled one. For us its not really a problem if we get cancelled and have to go elsewhere, as we dont have young children in tow. My son is ten so is less of a problem. We would be gutted obviously but its not the end of the world. I would rather pay up and wait to see what happens rather than risk losing money.
