Thanks for your apology firebird. No hard feelings. The buildings do match the artist redention, and I am sure the landscape will once it is finished. The beach and the pool will be located where the trees are. The Wave pool where the trucks are standing. Like firebird said there are nice beaches close by, I would say a five minute walk. It is rough but sandy. Many locals go swimming there so you know it cannot be that bad. They are going to fix up the beach in front of the hotel for sure, and they may even suprise us. Try to make the best of it. As for the sea view question, the sea is the north and the mountains are the south, and most of the buildings run north-south. If they ran east west then you would have one building with a sea view one with a mountain and the others viewing the other buildings. To answer another question a taxi cab ride into Tigaki should be about eight euros. In May I will try to find time in my busy schedule, to take some pictures, e-mail them to firebird so he can post.

Thanks SP55!! I will gladly post any other photos you may be able to take. Kos is such a nice place that i feel that even if the resort is not fully finished everyone will have a good time!

Just a thought....if the hotel is not finished off properly, and the bus is not running to the hotel, we should ALL get on to First Choice and get them to arrange REALLY cheap, possibly subsidised car rental.

been tryin all morning to contact FC with no response, i want some real assurance from them in writing that the hotel will be completed and usable in time for our holiday (28th june). anyone else had luck getting through?

Got through to FC on the 4th attempt after continual ringing and then being cut off each time. As far as they have been told KABC will be opening on 24th May. If they are told any different they will contact us. Asked how close to the holiday date this might be and she couldn't say, only that as soon as they are told we would be informed - she said that if the hotel wasn't going to open in time then it wouldn't be left up to the last minute to tell us (gee thanks) but that if any of the amenities weren't going to be ready we could be told this at the last minute. Don't know about anyone else, but for those of us going on 24th May and by the look of those photos there looks like a lot of work to be done in 4 weeks, 6 days

Just been on FC holday website trying to do a false booking wouldn't take any bookings from any airport, tried various dates, passengers etc. Earliest date available 2nd May 2007! Seems strange because last week pretty much any date was available, unless people have seen the updated photos on here and are now rushing to book

I have spoken yet again with FC customer services this morning, was on the phone to them for some time, even offered to email them my pics, and although the lady thoroughly sympathised with my situation, she said that currently they have on site building surveyors that are liasing back daily with FC here in britain and they are still saying that the 24th is opening day, I told her that we are now looking at changing our holiday but she said we will incur the current costs of a new holiday and may end up paying out more, she did tell me that FC have reserve funds for reallocating families that they have to cancel.

Jochick - ive just had a look online too and your right its not allowing bookings for all sorts of combinations, as apparently there are no flights available I tried from 24th may - 28th june.

Just spoken to FC i stayed on the phone while i asked her to check the photos out , she was a little shocked and said they were not aware ? but still maintain the same date for opening,.

All bookings for this year have stopped ? and i was told to ring back in a week as they are going to make enquires, so lets wait and see...

Hi Everyone and thanks to all for all the updates, photos etc. Have been watching forum for some time and decided to ring First Choice today as balance due for our hols tomorrow!

We are booked to go 17th June, me, hubby and our two girls aged 9 and 6.

The lady at First Choice this morning advised me that opening is scheduled for 24th May and said that there were some bad photos doing the rounds on the internet!!!!!!!! However, accommodation is built and the pools, outer buildings etc are all pre-fab and are built in Athens and then shipped over - that's a new one I'm sure

I asked her how confident we should be feeling that this complex will be opened and fully functional by 24th May and she said very. She also advised that someone from First Choice is visiting the site at the end of next week and information will be posted on their web site.

So we'll wait and see!!!

thanks for that munskin, been trying to get through myself to fc (what a nightmare) i have heard that building laws and regulations in greece are supposed to be pretty strict. well we shall see when we arrive on 24th!!!!ive experienced unfinished hotels before in portugal and do not want to experience it again, this will be my hubbys reaction!!!!

Hi Michelle, i stayed on the phone, whilst FC checked the photos out, she did say swimming pools etc can be built really quickly out there, but will know more this time next week. karen

what about the waterslides, I wouldnt have thought that they could be chucked up in a day or two, it took FC two weeks to get our main pool at the lanzarote holiday village up and running last year and that had only been closed for repainting due to a slippy base on the pool was 4 days shut just waiting for the chlorine levels to be correct.

I can imagine FC management running around like headless chickens at the mo now worried about leaked "bad photos on the net" lol

I am a little concerned now about the booking issues some of you have found today. I don't beleive for one minute those rooms would have been booked up over the week. Hopefully it is a problem with their website as I could not get on it last night.

I don't mean to be sending out worrying information as I would love to share positive information with you all as much as I like to read it but when Corfu ABC was not going to be opened this year, you could not book a holiday for this year on the website. it was then, a week after they did this that the letters were sent out and people got their phone calls!

mcfester - what Ive found when trying to book the KABC, is that it allows you to select the accomodation and enter details of the party numbers etc, but when you then press CONTINUE it then comes up in red letters stating that there are currently no flights available for that date, just had a thought I wonder if I try another accomodation in Kos for the same date it will say the same thing in theory it should if there are no flights available shouldnt it? let me go and see brb.......

I treid booking on the Eclipse Direct website just now and it too does not have any availability for 2006 - fearing the worse now.
