HI All,
Have just booked today to go to the Lanzarote Bay Hotel in June. I have not been to this island before can anybody tell me what I can expect from this hotel/Costa Teguise.
Thanks
Talia
Thanks for that. I did read a few reviews before I booked the hotel.
Sorry can't tell you anymore, as I've never stayed there, but have friends that went there last summer with their four kids, and they certainly seemed to enjoy it
hi, i used to live in this resort, it is a lovely hotel and i'm sure you'll have a great time, feel free to ask me any questions and i'll try and answer them for you
It,s almost 2 years since we were at L.bay so things may have changed. At the time it was a really good hotel and we had a great holiday there. The apartments were very clean and although quite basic had everything we needed. Paid extra for a pool view, and were pleased we did as the view from the large balcony was lovely. Really nice pool, always clean. Lifeguard there most of the time. Sunbathing area around the pool would be very nice, if people put thier rubbish in the bins instead of leaving it to blow around in the wind. Lanzarote is a very windy island, and anything that isn't fastened down blows away. People use paper plates from the snackbar, and cups from the bar, and are too lazy to get off thier sunbeds to go to the bins. When the wind blows and makes a mess they blame the cleaning staff for not being there every minute of the day to clean up after them. Don't mean to moan about things, but I can't bear lazy people. The food was very good for a 3 star hotel. There was an excellent choice in the buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, there was a pool bar, as mentioned above, which was open from about 11.30am, until late afternoon. It served burgers, hotdogs, chips salad and fruit. At the bar the soft drinks were brand names - coca cola, diet coke, fanta and sprite. The spirits were unknown makes but taste the same as the real thing. Beer not so good , very weak. Costa Teguise is a lovely resort. It gets busy but is still fairly quiet. It has something for everyone (except people looking for nightclubs and noisy bars, they would be disappointed). There are plenty of shops bars and restaurants and a few beaches, which are all lovely, very clean golden sand. L.Bay is about 15 mins walk from the resort centre. Would we go back. Most definately YES. We'd go back to both the hotel and C.T. Anything else I can help with, just let me know.
Many thanks for your info about the hotel/resort. I cannot wait to go now. It probably sounds like a silly question but do the rooms have kettles and t.v's?
The room had a TV, but I can't remember what channels were on it. I think it was the type that you have to put money in to watch. There wasn't a kettle but I think you can hire them from reception. I've heard that this is quite common in hotels in the Canary's. We didn't go on any trips because we are too lazy to get off our sunbeds, and the children loved the pool and entertainment through the day so much, that we didn't feel the need to leave the hotel. From reading this website, you can learn a lot about trips etc. We probably should see all there is to see while we are on holiday, but a lazy day, and a walk around the resort at night is what we enjoy. I'm no expert, but cars are cheap to hire, and you will probably see much more of the island by car, rather than booking trips, which are usually quite expensive. Hope this helps.
I'm going to the Lanzarote Bay in July/August. I've seen some bad reviews and also some good ones. Last year we went to the Ficus in Costa Teguise, which is similar to the Lanzarote Bay (all-inclusive) but smaller. we had a great time there and if the Lanzarote Bay is anything like as good as the Ficus, then we should be in for a good holiday!
Thanks for that, I will let you know what I think of the hotel when I get back...... It turns out speaking to some of my customers last week I mentioned that I booked to stay in this hotel and they said they went there last year. They showed me some photo's of the hotel pool and it looked lovely. They had a lovely time but said it was a bit quiet night times but they only went into the adults bar.
thanks keira x
When is your cousin going to Lanza? I'll let you know what it's like when I get back.
my friends stayed at lanzarote bay last september , they loved it . said it was a brilliant holiday . food was good and everyone very friendly . we were in puerto del carmen at the same time as they were in costa teguise , we stayed at lepenita apartments which i would definitely recommend .

Has anyone stayed at Lanzarote Bay Apartments? I'm looking to hear any comments about the place, on behalf of my nephew and his girlfriend who are going there to stay very soon. They have read very different views on the place.
My husband and I returned from the lanzarote Bay apartments/hotel last night.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody going with children but NOT couples. It was a lovely hotel with loads of lovely food, drink and sun but it was overrun with children.
The entertainment was all aimed at children and the families.
We walked down to the main part of Costa Teguise each night to all the shops, bars, restaurants etc. It was only a 15 min walk and we got a taxi back which only cost around 3 euros.....
Let me know if you need to know anything else
Talia
Thank you for your replying. My nephew and his girlfriend arrived their last night, and said they are really happy with it all. It's their first trip abroad together, and I don't suppose they will be bothered about it being couples or families. They will be spending alot of their time with my daughter who is working Puerto del Carmen.

Is the evening entertainment all done by the reps, or do they get professional acts in? Is the 'adult-only' bar strictly for adults, or would they allow a couple of sensible, respectful teenagers in? Do they have music playing around the pool all day, or should I take my walkman? And finally, where would I be able to buy water or fruit juice at about 1am? (we have an evening flight and land at midnight-ish) Are there any late checkout rooms available? (night flight home )
Getting giddy now, thinking about it!
Most of the entertainment is done by the reps. Whilst we were there they had a three degrees tribute act and the beijing acrobats but all the rest was the reps and kids.
There is music around the pool. The bar is meant to be adults only but there were a few kids in there when we went in.
Im not sure about you getting water etc at 1am as the bars close at 12.30 but if you head out of the hotel and turn left and left again there are a few bars (only a 2 min walk if that)
There are late check out rooms but book them a few days before you need them.
Im sure you will have a lovely time.
Talia
Thanks for the advice We might just take a cool bag with drinks, cos we always need drinks on the plane, on the coach at Arrecife etc.. Will come in handy for taking picnics to the beach anyway
