Hi Beefy we booked Florida last Xmas with holidaygenie on a Virgin Atlantic flight.
and again with them a few weeks ago to Jamaica [Virgin Alantic] both flights were
great with no problems,we were upgraded on the flight out to Jamaica :) so really
pleased ,on both flights they were cheaper by around £50 per person than booking
direct with Virgin ,and still able to claim our air miles.

"but I've checked on Delta's website and I'm booked in with them on the flights I wanted so touch wood everything seems fine."

Delta=Don't expect luggage to arrive ;)

Joking!!!! Delta are a decent airline along with United/Continental.

Thanks for that Vegasone very interesting read :tup

That's a great read. I was a bit worried about potentially being in Vegas for 24 hours before my mates, but I'm not now. Also, with all of those winnings that sounds like the cheapest holiday ever!

Thanks for the link. I'm going to read it over my lunch.

Have a great time TeeCee! Looking forward to reading your trip report if you manage to do one.

Do you know that the Cosmopolitan has an offer at the moment? If you lose $100 in one day they will recredit your card with $100.

Cosmopolitan - also a free spin of a wheel for new members. I got $5 free slot play, but Kevin got $100. He only won $35 off it though, however he won $100ish a few nights previous - and we got reasonable drinks service too!

Hi All,

Arrived safely yesterday afternoon. Flight was good, took 9hrs 50 mins so got in a bit early.
Had to wait 15 mins for the limo to arrive, first time we have ever done this and it was great!!
Driver took us all the way down the strip before going to the Signature. We used Presidential limo's.
Check in was fine, we are in one of BlueChip Vegas's upper penthouses, so we are on the very top floor of tower 1. Amazing views over the strip, and we get a balcony too! :cheers
It was about 3:30pm by the time we had checked in so we just changed and had a leisurely walk down to the casino for a little gamble and our first cold corona.....the official start of our holiday!
I started quite well with luck......turned $20 into $100 after playing Zeus and a couple of others.
We were getting hungry....and very tired by 6:30pm so we wandered over to Wolfgang Pucks grill and had a bite to eat, Linda had Spaghetti and meatballs and I had Organic chicken, mash and sautéed veg. Have to say it was very very nice, Linda had a nice glass of red and I had a delicious Moscow Mule cocktail with a very fiery ginger beer in it. Mmmmmmmmm :cheers
Went to bed at 7pm......that's a first :rofl Kept waking up through the night but we've just got up now at 5:45 this morning so not too bad. We're gonna go down to the fitness room in a short while to buff ourselves up for the pool :sun2 We've both lost weight over the last few months so plan to use the fitness room every day to allow for the 'bad' stuff we'll be tempted to have!
Plan for today is to laze by pool.....forecast for the 7 days is good, 98 degrees by 5pm today.....
Nothing planned for tonight so we'll probably wander over to Cosmopolitan and check out that deal you guys mentioned! Cheers for that!
As we have wi-fi, I should be able to update regularly.
VEGAS BABY!!!! Woohoooooooooooooo

Cheers

Aww thanks for popping in TeeCee. Your room with a view sounds gorgeous. Enjoy the rest of your stay :tup

Sounds like a good start TeeCee!

We actually prefer the later arrival of the BA flight rather than flights that get in in the afternoon as we manage to stay up longer. Like you, if we arrived mid-afternoon, we were dead on our feet by 7pm then wide awake at midnight or 1am. At least in Vegas you can go out and find something to do at any time day or night.

We also used Presidential when we booked a limo from the airport and thought they were very good. Hope you got the bottle of bubbly and rose for Linda.

Nice win there. Hope there are many more.

Looking forward to the rest of your TR.

I have stayed at The Luxor on all my trips ( 14) but thats because I get my room cheap however its a nice hotel the rooms in the tower are modern and the beds are huge. The pool area is huge but has no shade unless you want to pay $25 but its a lovely pool area and doesnt contain vast amounts of young pretty girls with to die for figures galavanting around a pole while the DJ spins his beats.......so if you are normal like me its an ok poool..if you are not normal and want hot sexy women and men who look fab and are into dancing in the heat around a pool with a cocktail then you need to go to Hard Rock Aria or Palms....

The Luxor is cheap as its at the end of the strip and some would say the novelty of the pyramid has worn off but then when in Vegas you are hardly in your room anyway. If you follow Luxor on twitter they give out room offers sometimes

DAY 1
Went down the fitness room at 7:30am.....there's a first!  :D  it was actually quite busy, had to wait half an hour to get a treadmill (I didn't just stand waiting of course, I was on a bike and doing some weights)!  Ended up going out to the pool by about half eight.  Was still fairly quiet out there, about a dozen people.  Unfortunatelymthere have been a few changes at the Signature and notmfor the good.  They are obviously trying to get every extra buck that they can, they have removed all the umbrellas from pool 1 except half a dozen that are around the proper beds with matresses, that set you back about 50 bucks to hire for the day.  So no shade at all. :duh  it was absolutely roasting today, close to a hundred degrees so come 1pm we were thoroughly cooked and had had enough.  Linda said it looked like there were more umbrellas by pools 2 and 3 so we checked them out and there are about 5 umbrellas available by normal sun loungers between pools 2 and 3 so tomorrow we're going to try for one of those.  They get the sun quite a bit later but it's worth it for the shade.  So many beds now have 'reserved' signs on them that you have to pay for, it's pretty disappointing that the Sig has gone this way, although I guess in the current climate they have to do all they can.
After changing etc we walked over to the Trop for a gamble.  I was gagging for a drink, we played for 40 mins and not once did a waitress walk past, I think we had more chance of seeing The real Elvis than a cocktail waitress in there!  After losing about 40 bucks we walked over to Excalibur.  I went on a Let it Ride/3card poker table and did ok for a while but ended up losing 100 bucks after about 90 mins.  Linda lost a bit on the slots....but at least I managed to get a couple of Coronas! :cheers  To be honest, I was that thirsty by this time. I would have paid 50 dollars for a bottle anyway!
Linda said she really fancied steak in the evening so we walked over to NYNY and booked a table in Gallaghers....our favourite steakhouse....for 7:30.  Walked back to the room, it was now 5:45pm.  Grabbed a few zzzz's for 50 mins before getting ready.  MGMis absolutely buzzing, tonight is the first night of the IHeartRadio music weekend.  I was gutted I didn't get tickets for tomorrow nights acts.  Tickets are available but only on black market and they are about 6 times face value, so around 1000 dollars each for a reasonable seat  :really  I think we'll leave that!  Went out at 7:10, forced our way through the hordes going to the arena.  Walked over to Gallaghers. Linda had bone-in sirloin and I had fillet, we shared broccoli and one of their jumbo baked spuds.  Had a nice glass of Chilean red with it.  Steaks were awesome as usual, Gallaghers really are superb for steaks.  We're both really tired still so we decided to leave Cosmopolitan until tomorrow night.  We walked over to Monte Carlo and had a little gamble.  Linda played the slots whilst I played Texas hold-em.  I did ok for about 90 mins again but then had a little run of bad luck and lost it all.  Linda had the same luck on the slots so we're going to stop off on the bridge over the strip between NYNY and MGM and beg like the other 20 guys on there!   :tup  Saw the porno slappers for the first time this holiday....some things never change!  Why is it when Americans go out to dinner, they feel they have to shout a conversation as if the guys he's talking to are in the hotel next door, even when they are on the same table?
Second observation of the night....why do some women wear shorts that barely cover their cheeks despite having a bum so large that it should beep when reversing?  That second comment makes me sound old..... :rofl  Back to the room at about 11pm, we need to catch up on some sleep as we need to hit the gym again tomorrow......I need to get into those really tight shorts later!!

I'm tired just reading your report. Sounds like you're packing in the activities.

I can't do short naps like that. Last time we tried it, we woke up at midnight! Luckily we didn't miss anything important like a show or dinner reservations.

:rofl

We've never tried Gallaghers even though I've seen you mention it before. What are the prices like there for steak and wine? I prefer a filet mignon.

We discovered Envy Steakhouse last trip and really enjoyed it.

Hi Luci,
Yes, I got the bubbly and Rose for Linda so it added a nice touch.

Gallaghers isn't cheap to be honest but the food and portions are so good I think it's worth it. Lindas aged sirloin was $40 and my fillet steak was 39. Sides are $8 eachbutbig enough to share each one. We had a glass each of Chilean red (we love south American reds), and it was $9 a glass and was delicious! Total bill was $124 without tip. Forgottomention wealso had two sauces, a peppercorn and a shallot and Beaujolais yum!

Its now 9:38am and we're by pool 2 and we have an umbrella! :sun2
Went to the gym at 7:15 this morning so feel really fresh and awake! Have just booked Maggiano's online for tonight, our favourite Italian. We'll get the monorail down there and have a gamble in Palazzo and Wynn probably. Will write more later!

Cheers
