We did not swim in the sea so I can't comment- I definitely had to go in to the pool to cool down quite often though. Lindos is a stunning place- it really is picture postcard. No cars or motor vehicles through the village- just donkeys!
Thanks, your comments are very positive, we've also been looking at the Krana Studios, we don't like to be in the centre of things so a stroll to the restaurants and bars will be okay, I'm sure we won't worry about the return journey after a couple of drinks!
There are some lovely restaurants and bars there. You can be having a drink in the courtyard of a sea captians house complete with floor mosaics! Krana is in a great position as tourists still are flocking to Lindos during the day- you have the choice of joining them or staying in more peaceful surroundings! The coach park is just at the bottom of the hill the studios are on but you dont see them as you are quite high up.
If you are going with your other half tell her to forget high heels. The hills and shiny cobbles are not great for them( although I did venture out a few times in them!)
We used to like wandering down at lunchtime and picking different places to eat and watch the world go by. We only had a week- lucky you with two!
The sea is lovely and warm in October. The Greeks think we are mad swimming before July! The sun has been on the sea all summer and it's wonderful.
Were off to back to Pefkos for the second time in late September, last time we went swimming the sea was 24* in late September(2001).
We are just up the road in Kolymbia September 3rd 2005. We were wondering what the mozzie situation was like at that time of year. Look forward to your replies because I have heard you can get bitten alive in Rhodes.
Lets put it this way..just purchased a Mosquito net.
Well, just booked the Lindos Horizon, due to reasons beyond our control we can't go earlier so will be travelling on 8 October for a couple of weeks, so just a couple of questions. Will the resort still be fairly busy around this time or will the bars and restaurants begin to close for the end of the season. Also, will we need a pullover/cardigan for the evenings?
I've been to Lindos in October several times now. It is quieter but you'll find bars and restaurants are open as normal (at worst you'll probably just find a couple of items are off the menu as it's end of season).
As for a cardigan/pullover for the evenings - take one as you might (though if lucky you won't) need it.
