The more remote beaches tend to be full of wild dogs during the evenings so I wouldn`t consider that option at all, no matter how far off the beaten track you are there is always someone willing to rent a room for the night.

Also at £1.50 to £2.50 for a beach shack whats the point :)

I know many who have slept on the sunbed at various shacks - just ask the owner, and for a small fee a blanket or sheet is provided - as for the tent, nice idea but not worth the hassle of carting it about.

Sounds like a lot of hassle for little reward to me! If you really want to sleep in a field away from the beaches - somebody will sort something out for you without the ballache of schlepping a tent around.

I hear the snakes like it there, too! :yikes

Besides, my tent weights about 3-4 kg, so if carrying it around with the other luggage is going to be more annoying rather that advantages of having it, then I would not take it with me))))

And considering the blankets which could be available in the shaks, I am definitely not taking the tent to Goa))) I will leave my tent for Altay and Siberian trips)))

Thanks all for your opinions.
