Not too far away, we are staying next door to you at the dinastia complex on the 14th july. We also use this beach and in terms of walking distance i would say it would take you approx 20-25 mins, but has you are staying at the paradise park they have a shuttle bus which runs daily down to the beach.

Las Vistas beach is in Los Cristianos. There are three beaches in LC, the black, rocky one you mentioned is in front of the Arona Gran Hotel and there is a sandy beach in the harbour. Further round towards Playa de las Americas is Las Vistas beach, which in my opinion is the best. It is around 20 minutes walk away from Paradise park but it is a pleasant walk along the promenade. It is easily indentified because there is a large fountain in the middle.

here is a link to las vistas beach.

then click on 'cameras el vino' and there is a live one of las vistas beach. Which i would say is the best beach near you.

it is a lovely beach.

We swim it when we go, we start of at the rocks at the las americas side, then we stay with the rope which goes all along the water. It takes us about 15 mins and we end up as the los c end.

If you understand.

The video image of Las Vistas beach does look really nice. Judging by the pictures it looks like golden sand, has it been imported?
The kids keep telling us they'd like to go to a beach with golden sand next time we are there so we're trying to find the nearest nicest beach, we'll have a car so won't be a problem to travel abit. We are staying at Playa Paraiso.
Many Thanks

It is a lovely beach :) I believe the sand has been imported from the Sahara desert. We also use the beach in front of the Mare Nostrum Resort...Playa del Camison. It's another one with lovely light sand.
Another lovely one is at Fanabe. Apparently,8 of Tenerife's beaches were awarded the blue flag of excellence....read that in one of the newspapers.

The sand was imported and the whole beach/promenade created linking LC to PDLA.
many many moons ago, they were 2 seperate resorts and walking from PDLA was not like it is today on the beautiful promenade.

You walked on waste land and literally had to climb over rocks that jutted out into the sea to walk under the now tunnel, that brings you out near the harbour.
That tunnel was nothing more than an oversize sewer pipe with no lights and you were hardly able to stand upright in it.

When they created the beach the locals were scavenging the huge shells that the diggers were excavating up.....to sell later

Memories

PS. I actually threw some bits of a video together for another members question, and this will show you the beach....the videoclip is a bit "ropey" by my standard today.

Yes thanks Sanji, enjoyed the video clip too, and thanks Fiona, I think when we come again in November we'll try the las Vistas beach. The last couple of times we have gone into los Gigantes - to the little beach there, which is nice although its black sand, but the kids have been saying they'd like to go to a beach with golden sand next time, so we'll give las vistas a go!
