So Lakeland or Balanzza guys? I'm fed up with peering under the digital bathroom scales dial? :rofl

The Lakeland scales are Balanzza and they are fantastic. Absolutely accurate. Last weekend case weight at home was 14.3K Ryanair scales absolutely the same. Previously Jet2 20.1 home and the same at the Airport. I am very impressed!

Paid £19.99 don't know if they can be bought anywhere for less. Might be worth looking at pricerunners.

Just to let people know that Netto's have some luggage scales on offer from the 2/2/09 on their website £2.99 don't know if they will be any good but just thought I would let you's know ;)

Argos now have these scales at £19.59 - Catalogue No. 286/4110. My nearest store were out of stock on Monday but were expecting more in so I'll be back there next week. I've always been lucky in the past (sometimes due to a kindly person on check-in) but in the present climate I don't want to take a risk.

I've just posted a 20% discount code for this co. in the promotional codes section, which makes them quite reasonable for a digital pair and the manual ones.

just bought mine from argos today.only one left in shop and none in other shops near me. seem to be in short supply or selling fast. get them quick.. Hubby still thinks its more fun to see me struggling on one leg with case and trying to read bathroom scales. HAha he looses he had to pay for new scales. :rofl :rofl :rofl

I've just reserved the last one(in stock) for pick up to-morrow at my local Argos store. :rofl

The last time I looked they were sold out but the new stock has gone quick as well. :really

At least now I wont have to do my balancing trick on the bathroom scales anymore :tongue

Do you think the non digital ones on ebay would be any good. They are working out app £5 - 6 with P&P and weigh up to 22kg ??

ive just bought some digital ones that weigh up 50 kilos from ebay 9.99 inc postage, lets hope when they arrive they are fairly accurate lol :tup

You can get the non-digital ones on Bury Market for under £5!! Can't say how accurate they are but as they are very light you could always take them to the airport with you and show them to check-in if there is a problem!! :rofl

Argos Catalogue no. is 286/4110. I got mine yesterday and reserved it on line as there was only one in stock at my nearest store. I just had a look at the Argos website then put 'luggage scales' into the 'search' area. They are the Balanza ones and well worth the money if it saves me being over-weight (or rather my luggage, it's too late to save me. :rofl)

TJ hughes have them for £4.99
think i am going to invest in these , i dont trust bathroom scales to be accurate

Bought my luggage scales at TJ Hughes yesterday £4.99 only one problem, lifting my case on the hook to see what it weighs!!!!!! CBG

This can be a problem but I solved it in some way by standing on a stool. I prefered to rely on my taxi driver or the bus boy in the hotels to check the weight for me. The thing about the digital ones is that as long as it lifts off the floor and then beeps the weight can then be read easily.
For me worth every penny of the £19.99 I paid at Lakeland as they are very substantial as well as absolutely accurate.

Used mine about 15 minutes ago and easily slipped into the case before locking - couldn't have got the bathroom scales in there though. ;)

I bought a luggage scale from Aldi that went pop the first time we used it. Using the thin handle and contorting to try and read it convinced me to go upmarket once I got a refund.
I looked at the Balanzzas available on eBay but thought the model available was a similar handled effort as the cheap scales so I bought the new Balanzza 2009 Ergo model off their website.
The entire scale becomes the handle.
I noticed the Star were doing a similar offer last weekend, but the Star were charging postage on top whereas mine was inclusive.

It seems Ok but unfortunately I can't afford a holiday and so will not be able to report back until my daughters' try it on their Ryanair excursion to Spain soon.
