In July the aircon will definitely be on. As aircon goes it's not the best. Turkey in Jul can get VERY hot. The teen club goes up to 17. Depending on what other kids are in it she might feel a bit old. Hard to say. There will be plenty adult stuff like pool games and lots of sports she can join in.

Thanks for your reply - what sort of entertainiment is on in the evening and do you think my daughter will enjoy that or maybe are we better going out and about a bit - i booked this holiday thinking it would be the best option taking a teenager with two adults - what sort of activities are on in the day?

I'd say there's more than enough entertainment for a 17 year old and a relatively safe environment for her to go off on her own with new friends. The place is so secure you know she's only going to meet up with other guests. We tended to go with other families so my lot had a crowd of friends. I would suggest she hits the teen club on the first day and will probably find a few kids she has something in common with. The activities are too many to list. Most sports you can think of - tennis, football, basketball, archery, climbing wall, plus water sports, pool games, aerobics, salsa, judo, plus they can take part in a show. At night mine used to eat with a group of friends then watch the show and end up at the beach bar or the disco.

Thanks so much for your help were really looking forward to it now just hope i can cope with the heat

The heat is not that bad, just ensure you use a good sun factor, even before you leave your accomodation.

I was by the blue lagoon adult pool at 8am one year and by 9am i was sunburnt down my left side as the sun had moved and had caught my out..... thought it was too early to be hot for catching a tan !!!!

won't do it this year !!

you'll love it

 Hi Jane,
I would second what Bridd says and encourage your daughter to meet up with the teen club straight away. My two were a couple of years younger when we went but there were certainly 17 and 18year olds there. The Rep said that what tends to happen is that the teenagers come along on the first day but then they usually make friends and go off and do their own thing, rather than the teen club's organised activities.

I am sure you will all have a great time. My now 17 year old daughter said it was one of her best holidays and would love to go back!

Thanks a lot for your comments cant wait to go now - one other thing i know its pretty remote but is there anywhere you can walk to in the evening outside the resort??

out side the resort ( gates ) is just the lykia world taxi rank and dusty road which when you arrive you will see its up hill from olu deniz, and if you carry on up past the lw entrance then you just go up the mountain but there are no street lights as we have over here or there maybe but very little.

we walk around the gardens their very nice and its relaxing even walking from the cocktail bar on the beach along the seafront to the residence and around that way,

dont forget to sign up on your arrival for your "friends card" a bit like tesco clubcard..... then next year when you go or within 2 years you get a % of discount on what you spent in your last visit .... the % goes up each time you visit .... last year i had £45 off my bill at reception and we only spent £250, also each year you visit they leave things for you in your room,

we have everything last year..... Wine / basket of fruit / bathrobes / slippers / toiletries etc .... what their going to give us this i dont know ..... a partnership ??? :rofl

I've just phoned them and requested the room that i had last year, they always try to obtain it and have never let me down.

There's nowhere to walk to. It's a dangerous long walk in the dark. You would need a taxi to take you into Olu Deniz.

thanks so much for your comments are there any excursions you would recommend the last time i went to turkey was 20 years ago and went to dalyan and pammukale (not sure ive spelt them correctly) and had an great time was wondering if the jeep safari would be any good for us or the island boat trip bearing in mind a 17 year old in tow

We like Lykia Worlds own jeep safari - you don't get any of that water fight nonsense. Check before booking as they might have changed that!
The half day boat trip was good - I think the whole day one is too long but I'm not a big boat lover. The horse riding was fab. We went to the Perma Ranch. Good quality horses.
My lot also enjoy the quad biking although I always feel guilty about the noise they make in the otherwise peaceful countryside.
The white water rafting was a great day out but a long bus journey. Maybe too long in the heat.
A morning trip to the market in Fethiye is also fun. I think its on a Tuesday. Good to get back by lunch though as its V hot and sweaty.

Thanks again no doubt i will have some more questions before we go

Bridd,

we're thinking of doing a boat trip this year, where does the one from LW go ?

was thinking of booking in olu and doing it from fethiye ?

what do you think ?

cheers

Hi Gregg, the LW boat trip goes from the pier at Lykia World. Its the only one we've done so can't compare really. It goes round the bay and the little islands but not right into the lagoon - I don't think any of them can go there. It also goes along to Butterfly Valley and lets you swim at the beach for a while.
I think the trip for Olu would be cheaper. We always use the hotel for trips just because you don't have to travel to get to them - lazy or what?

Thanks bridd,

I only go to lw just to chill out n relax, how much was your boat trip from lw ? just to give me an idea and was it a full day or half day ? and whats included ?

cheers

It was the half day. I can't remember the price. Will see if I can find out. It didn't include food - just soft drinks. I guess the full day one would include lunch. We bought ice creams from a wee man in a boat who came alongside.

thanks bridd,

will check it out when we arrive on the monday evening in the village.

I have been told that the meal arrangements for LW have changed.

We have been going for the passed 3 years and the evening meal started at 7pm. We are going again at the end of May . Does anyone know if this is still the time of the evening meal or has it changed.
