Hi, does lykia world provide shower gel, soap etc in the rooms? And if they do, is it nice stuff or would we be better off to take our own? - trying to keep packing weight down! thanks
They have Dove shampoo and shower gel in the bathrooms. It's fine. I don't bother taking my own.
Apparantly Lykia is going to be fully booked the 2 weeks that we will be there (we go this Friday), what are the chances of us being given a courtesy room to change in for the day as we have a night flight home and a whole day to spend at Lykia without our room (I don't suppose they will let us keep on our room if they are full, will they?)
Last year we were given a key to one of the garden rooms to use when we needed to shower and had to return it straight after as others were able to use the same room that day.
From what I have heard, LW is fully booked untill the middle of september !!
Just goes to show that everyone have hear how good LW is !!
Flaming typical, that's why the prices have risen out of my reach for next year then
I hope it's not literally full. Maybe the UK TOs have just filled their allocation. It used to only get full in late July and August and it was far too crowded. I have been in June and September before and it's been ok - no queues for anything. I was thinking about this September but if it's getting busier I won't be going.
Knowing my luck it will be full as I am going the last two weeks in July. I hate the idea of constantly queueing at buffets and doing the sunbed shuffle. I normally go on holiday these two weeks and the second week is always so much busier than the first week.
i think it may be just the uk TO that are sold out then you have the russians and germans !
have just had my flights changed by 3 hrs - will not arrive at lw till 8pm
have any bodyelse had their flights changed with thomas cook ?
my flight was departing gatwick, would be nice to know if other airports are affected ?
cheers gregg
Mind you, I've just paid so this is the time that they will probably tell me that the flight times have changed!
on another note, does anyone know what sort of money the ironing/laundry service is. I cant stand the creases on the clothes after packing and with the best will in the world you can never get a surface in any room that you can iron on yourself even if you take your own.
Darren
I don't know Darren, but there's a self service laundry in the residence and another in the village with ironing boards etc.
Finally A RESULT !!! XL have refunded us the difference in room rates for making the mistake of booking us the wrong room type, not without a struggle I must add, we have had to chase them up and they have never rang back when they said they would so more chasing around by us, to top it all at 4am today my youngest has come down with a sick bug and threw up all over his lovely clean bed that was all nice and fresh for us going away this Friday and not only that but my washing machine has sprung a small leak.....just don't think we are meant to get away on this holiday somehow.......feeling very stressed at the min and still lots left to do, def ready for this holiday...I hope we get there!
last year when i looked at the price list it seemed to be like what you would pay in a top hotel in the uk, the forms and bags are placed near your safe in the room,
when your packing to go instead of folding your clothes - ROLL them, that way they dont crease, i've seen it on tv shows many times but have never tried it myself, as soon as i arrive i hang my shirts in the bathroom and turn on the shower on hot setting - let the room fill up with steam and in a few hours all the crease have gone
they have only changed my flights by 3 hours but up till march they said the flight was still going at 07.55am so something has happened as this flight has gone at that time for the last 3 years,
anyone else going on the 11.00am flight from gatwick on 7th july ?
Pamplemouse, Yes I PMd you a couple of days ago, did you not get it? If it is saved i will try again, let me know if you get it
Haven't heard anything about our flights being changed (yet!), but we are on a 10pm Thursday flight.
I take ages to pack our case - folding everything as little as possible. I absolutely insist on unpacking all the clothes from the cases as soon as we get to our room and hanging as much as I can up straight away, and I also always bring extra hangers. I've never had to iron a single thing and stopped taking a travel iron with us years ago. And none of us goes out looking wrinkly either (well not our clothes anyway )
At the mention of queuing and sunbed races I'm getting a bit worred about how packed the place will be when we go late July (we've only been in June before).
Obviously it will be busier in the height of the season than in June, but is there anyone who has been in the school summer holidays that can please tell us what it's like for buffet queus/sunbeds/getting a table at the Marina etc etc? Has anyone's child been turned away from kids clubs because they're full?
Thanks - anice
i went last year last week of june - returned 2nd july and the only thing i noticed was that the marine was full by 7.15pm with other people hunting for a table but it was not that bad, i'm going on 7th july this year and hope its not that busy like people have been saying its sold out ??
we went may bank holiday week and it was very full, we couldnt get in marina most nights so ended up in the residence restaurant which was easier to get a seat. also sun beds were a nightmare to find around the pools especially the main pool with all the entertainment we didnt get a sun bed there once in 2 weeks grrr, apart from that it was fine and we got in a few of the speciality restaurants if we booked 2 days before
We have got a really late flight on the way home, and I reckon the chance of a late check out room is zilch. I am wondering about going into Olu Deniz and finding one of the small BnB hotels and buying a room off of them for the day (if there is any availability) and then just getting a cab back to the airport that night. At least we wont be roomless for the best part of a day.
