With reference to Securapark, they emailed us to say they would give us free parking for our next holiday,so we emailed them our dates and times of flights of our next holiday and their reply was, they couldnt accept a booking now! but contact us nearer to the time!!,what a shambles of the company, they probably know that they wont be in business for much longer!!!!

kazza36,

I'll need more information than that I'm afraid! What are your flight numbers? I'll assume you're on the TOM2408/9? These are operated by a Thomson Airways Boeing 737-300. Further details on our THOMSON AIRWAYS ... Q&As topic and What Aircraft? guide (link below).

same happened to us when we booked with Manchester Shuttle Park this year in May. Had booked the parking nearly 12 months early, turned up in plenty of time to check in, man on barrier saying car park full and asked who we were flying with, told him and he directed us to the long stay car park for terminal 2, spent 20 minutes driving around with several other passengers trying to find a parking space, eventually found one and had to wait another 20 minutes for the bus. good job we had set off early or there would have been a rush on. Shuttle Park had given us a ticket stating use this when u come out of car park it will let you out two weeks of glorious sunshine and enjoying ourselves in cuba, lands in manchester, gets to car, ticket in barrier and yeah you guessed it, doesnt work, tannoyed bloked in kiosk and explained what had happened, he just opened barrier and let us through. checking the prices for this car park, it was a lot more expensive than what we had paid for the shuttle park, so although we were messed about initially it worked out fine in the end. i cannot understand though how they can be full when they have your booking in advance. I did wonder if it was to do with the ash cloud business and people moving their parking back and then honouring the parking, but surely they should have known they were full. it has put me off booking with them again, but if the price is right i will use them again. Checked for next year's holiday and got 2 weeks parking in the longstay terminal 1&3 for £40 which I thought was a bargain.

It does begger belief that when you book your parking in advance you arrive to find there is no space available. As for two weeks parking in the long stay terminal for £40 this is an excellent price when are you going December :D

Hi peeps
Anyone advise me on what to do for breakfast at Manchester airport?

We are flying on a Friday morning @0630ish staying at Bewleys the night before.
I am guessing breakfast at Bewleys will be a no-no due to the time we will have to leave!
So what options are available at terminal 1?
The websites non descript - "This store will normally be open between the hours of our first and last departing flight each day" does not really tell me a lot.

We are not eating on the plane due to the fussy kids! so are we limited to taking our own croissants etc?
Thanks

Can't speak for Manchester airport, but could you make up your own 'picnic' and ask Bewleys to keep it in the fridge for you or if your room has a minibar, in the room fridge? Obviously you can't bring drinks of more than 100 ml through security, but I would think that you could purchase cans or even a small carton of milk if you were bringing cereals.

In terminal 1 we go for the BarMCR breakfast (upsatirs)
Order at the bar and then it's brought to your table.
Much better than the 'cafe' across from it.

Thats what we were hoping to do, but not entirely sure what time it opens.
Anyone know? we would probably be there about 5am........

M15terRoboto,

BarMCR is open for the first departures of the day so should be open by 5am.

Anyone used the speedy boarding plus at manchester? is it worth the extra cost? as opposed to queuing with the other easyjetters?

Also, any idea what plane we will be on

EZY 1997 to Malta 7.30am tomorrow (i should be in bed really!)

Thanks Justine :)

justinexyz,

Your post is better on the dedicated Easyjet Q&A's topic. It's Easyjet that operate speedy boarding, not Manchester Airport. There's lots of passenger opinion on there. Your flight is operated by an Airbus A319-100. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi Shirley
I haven't tried it yet as it only opened on July 1st I think but will be using it in September. It looks really good and the menu seems great. I can't wait (you know what they say about little things and little minds :rofl )

I've just completed my on line check in for next week. Does anyone know where the baggage drop off point is in Terminal 1 please?
Reply
Helen, from what I understood of Befreetoday's post in the TC 0n-line check in thread, it varies. On the day, one of the TC desks will say speedy/on-line check in boarding.

We are off to Brewleys Hotel Wed night and stopping til our flight leaves on Thursday morning

We will arrive around 6ish and want to dump bags

Is there anywhere to eat local? will be happy with a kfc , burger king etc

will we be allowed in airport if there is one in there?

Most places are after security so you won't get in, there is a place in T1 arrivals that is accessible http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/RETAILERjoeskitchen

Bewleys is close to the Airport railway station so you could nip into the city centre for the evening, get one of these tickets http://www.gmpte.com/upload/library/09-1230_Rail_Ranger_Leaflet.pdf £2 from 18:30 to 02:30 next morning, trains run all night.
