These are duty free prices don't forget. The last time I went through the airport, that was the price for a non-EU destination, subject to brand. You'll find many of the charter airlines charge £25-27 for 200 depending on brand, £35-37 for 400. I don't make the figures up, I have the price list on my desk!

Is there a list of buses that operate round Manchester airport ? I have seen bus number 4 that transfers you to the terminals from Shuttle park airport parking but can`t find any details of it or the route it take. The reason I ask is that we have an early morning flight in December and are trying to see if it`s worth stopping over the night before. I tried to do this last year but it was so much hasstle I just book parking instead and travelled through the night.
If you stay at the Radisson you don't need a bus as it is in between terminals with access to either by a covered walkway. You can walk from the Crowne Plaza or Bewleys (not so good if it's raining though) but both offer transfer services.
Problem I have is I want to keep the cost down and also the least hastle.
We normaly catch the train to Manchester and stay at the Travelodge, we use their transfers at £7 each way, they do the transfers as you request.
We have to take the car this year as we fly home Christmas day, so we want to park the day before and stay over night if we can. We need to check in around 3.30am-4am so the transfer bus at the Premier Inn is no good, nethier are the Britainia hotels transfers. We don`t want to stay the night and then take the car to the car park as we would need to allow extra time for this and it wouldn`t be worth staying over.
What I idealy want is a hotel that is within walking distance of the car park.
I was thinking of Staying at Premier Inn Heald green, parking at Shuttle park and then my transfers would be included on Christmas day. I would get a taxi from the hotel on the morning of the flight but the problem I have is getting from the car park to the hotel.
There are lots of hotels around the airport that offer a night's stay and car parking and transfers to the airport, I don't really understand what your enquiry/problem is....
Hi Chris - Are you saying that because it's Xmas day there are no shuttles running? We stayed at the airport Travellodge in the summer, and had no problem with transfers.
Helen I`ve stayed at Travelodge a few times when we`ve had a taxi to airport or used the train, but it`s not near to a car park.Taxis will be double time on xmas day. Travelodge will still run their transfers as will other companies.
My problem is, I will arrive at around 4-5pm, check in to hotel. Then go and park car, go back to hotel.
We need to be awake for around 3am as our flight departs at 6am.
So I need to get from car park to hotel.
Hotel to airport.
Airport to car park
In such a short amount of ti home time is it worth me stopping or having no sleep and staying at home till around 1-2 pm and then parking.
My first post asked if anyone knew anything about the bus number 4 that`s what I want to know.
It depends on how far you are prepared to walk. There's plenty of car parks that are within 10-20 minutes walking distance from the airport, Bewleys, Hilton etc. There's lots of bus information, including Christmas day on Manchester Airports website. As suggested above, I'd look at a park and stay at the Radisson as that's onsite and would minimise your problems. You might pay a little more, but it'll certainly offset and taxi costs. There's plenty of other nearby hotels that offer park and stay as well that do transfers.
Darren
If you use the Travelodge you can park your car there, can't you? They do park and stay. They do the transfers. It will certainly be cheaper than using the airport car park. I think it is less than £100 for a night in the hotel and 14 nights car park. You just turn up - they will do the rest.
In fact if you use the Britannia Country hotel the cost is £43 INCLUDING car parking (which is at the hotel) They will organise your transfers to and back from the airport. Even if the transfers times don't suit, just get a taxi - you will still be quids in..............
Best option I have is Shuttle park 8 days parking at £18
Premier inn Heald green £29
Transfer to airport £6
Return transfer from airport to shuttle park in the cost
I`ve looked at gooogle earth and it looks like we could walk.
denny.53 don`t fancy Britain hotels and transfers back on xmas day will be expensive.
Travelodge don`t have a longstay carpark.
The Brittania hotels shuttle will be a fixed price and they run every 45 mins.
AA to bring back Manchester-JFK route
American Airlines will re-launch its non-stop summer seasonal Manchester-New York JFK route next year.
The route was introduced last May but, due to strong demand, its launch is being brought forward to April 6 next year.
American said it also expected it to operate as a year-round service.
Departures in both directions have also been re-timed by over an hour so that they will now depart Manchester earlier and leave New York later.

Cathay Pacific Airways have just announced they are to resume passenger services at Manchester. Commencing 26th October 2011, they'll operate 5 flights per week from Hong Kong to Manchester, via Zurich. The return will also operate via Zurich. Flights will be operated using Boeing 777-300/ER from Terminal 2.
I know the raddison does but its slightly pricey.........is it worth it?
If not where is the best place in T1 for brekkie?
So far i have a taxi booked but i need to check in at 715am (2 hours before a longhaul with TC 2hours is ok isnt it?) so im thinking of staying overnight and getting a nice hotel brekkie instead of setting off so early!
The only place in T1 at that time is the main restaurant in the departure lounge. From about7am, other places start to open. It's ok, nothing fancy but pricey with it being an airport. Expect about £10 for a full english, or £4-7 for a bacon / saussage sandwich etc. The recommended check-in time for long haul is 3 hours before your scheduled departure time. However, I normally check-in 2-2.5 hours before as I've never seen the reason for the 3 hours, apart from at peak times (which we aren't at the moment).
Darren
Thanks Darren, im just looking at the option of the escape lounge now as its £60 for 4 of us so might be worth it.
