I arrive at Marina Dourada on 26th November, this will my 10th visit in 10 years, I can not fault the hotel, the staff are excellent, I have seen many of the room boys grow up over the years, and have now management positions, The management are excellent, The bar is busy around early evening, and then again late evening when people come back from dining out side.
Entertainment is usually around 3-4 times a week, with a Gala Evening held every fortnight, which the food is gorgeous.
The rooms are adequate with double bed, chairs and table, wardrobe, dressing table, fridge, tv, air conditioning and ceiling fan, balcony with chairs.
The best place for laundry, is to take your own, head out of marina dourada, turn left, over bridge, about 300 yards on right hand side, you will see all the washing hanging out, around 10rupees for each item, including washing and ironing, and turn around is normally 24-36 hours.
If any one wants any more information, let me know, I am more than happy to help where I can
Hi Littlepen, the laundry you refer to, is it past the turning to Sun Village heading in the direction of J&As?
Last night I sent an email to the Marinha Dourada requesting a room that I like. Got a reply back from Edwin by lunch time today. which I think is an excellent speedy reply (for Goa!
Was wondering if they only check their email once a month

Any updates on the building work that is taking place nearby?

Hi All
YES..... strange I know, but you won't do diy cheaper than a package to the MD 21 nights £1443 in March (then add your flights),
I emailed them earlier in the year about prices and the price they quoted was different to the website (less I think). Didn't end up booking there but it might be worth a try.
First Choice also do this Hotel, good planes, direct flight,we have just paid £713 each 2weeks on New years Eve, we could have got the Osbourne for £630. Might be worth a look.
I am presuming that the sort of v shaped pool is the annex pool, does anyone know the room numbers that look out onto that pool so we can keep an eye on the kids from the room if were not with them (they are not little, youngest 12 and can all swim, but still like to have them in view) also do these rooms have a view of the lakes
Yes Debi you will get a full view of of the lake from all the annexe rooms. Email the hotel and tell them you would like a room very near the pool in the annex building. I am sure they will be able to oblige. We stayed in the annex before, on the first floor, I think we were room 150 or something similar, but its further away from the pool so you would need one nearer.
Yes all annex rooms over look lake all balconys are at front, can not remember door numbers, there is a lot of room overlooking that pool, just email them and tell them what you want.
How much notice is it best to give via e mail to request a particular room? I have my eye on a certain one at the MD for next March.
Hi Lisa I sent an email a month before and I got a reply from Edwin the following day.
I really dont want to be seen to be bothering them yet as I dont arrive 'til March but..........

Looking on the MD website it says they have a play area and that it is the first of its kind in Goa. It says it has a wide array of PLAY STATION games (does this mean video playstation games :?) an aquarium, life size animals like dinosaurs, caves, imported and safe lightweight play equipment . I wondered if anyone has been here since this has been finished and if they know what it is actually like
