Thanks for all the info so far. There is nothing worse than coming home to two weeks worth of washing and ironing. That may sound strange strange coming from a blokey but as I don't/can't cook...I do all the washing/ironing!!

Still I can look forward to a washing/ironing free weekend when we return.

Clothes do get very dirty quickly dont they

Marina Dourada, Baga Beach, Goa - Reviews

I am due to go to Goa in November this year and wanted some recent reviews of the Marina Dourada Hotel in Baga. Most of the reviews i have seen are a few years old, Has someone been recently (like this year???).

Anything really......What the hotel rooms are like/staff?? Is it clean?? What i the hotel food/restaurant like?? How about entertainment?? Is there any and is it any good. I know some places can be a little tacky and rubbish.

Yep agree with Gemma, its a wonderful hotel Laura. The staff are very helpful and friendly, they work hard to keep the grounds and the pools lovely and clean. The reception staff are knowelegable and will help you out with any queries you have about anything. The rooms are good, cleaned daily. The food is okay, nothing special, far better to read through the posts here on favourite eating places and go out at night around and about. Its brilliant! The beach shacks serve wonderful food. Also far cheaper than eating at the hotel. Any questions just ask away. Dont mind you sending me a PM if you like. Good luck.

Have to agree with lisawithans the hotel is great but the food is not great at all. I do feel sorry for them when we make up excuses for not eating at the hotel. :oops:

The hotel food was okay if you have had a long day and want to not venture far, but thats about it. So many wonderful eating places to choose from with far more choice and atmosphere than at the hotel. Also the food there is overpriced, small portions, and was luke warm when i ate there just the once.

I also felt a little bit sorry for them when night after night they ask if you are eating there and you say no. I may have been a little more tempted if they covered the fish/prawns etc up in the display they have laid out for that night. Flies all over it! :shock:

Laura, this hotel is really lovely. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

The grounds are immaculate and the rooms kept very clean. We didn't eat at the hotel either, as there is just so much choice in the area that we like to go out each night, however we were told by quite a few people that the fish night was good.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay and let us know how you got on when you get back. We're due there for Christmas.

I just remembered when we were there last Christmas they were busy painting the big black and white squares where they have the Gala dinners. All these boys on their hands and knees painstakingly painting each inch of that large area!
