Hi
We are now going to The Mediterrean Beach Hotel in Limassol this september. I think it is in the Amathus area of Limassol.
Its been a few years since i have been to the Amathus area, is there a still a few Tavernas there? and also within walking distance to the hotel?
thanks
Yes there are lots of good restaurants and tavernas very close! Too many to mention!
If anyone has been the Hotel Mediterrean in Limassol, do you have to leave a credit card imprint when you check in?
My parents have been coming to various hotels/apartments in Cyprus since November 2004 to visit us for holidays and a close friend for the same number of years each December. Neither have been asked to leave a credit card imprint.

Is there welcome meetings at the Mediterrean Beach via Thomas Cook? and offer excursions - if so where to?
thanks
cant help with regard welcome meeting [we dont attend them] as for things to do and see have you looked at the
thanks for Wizard. I know Limassol and Pissouri quite well but not confident driving around with just myself and daughter lol ( i get lost leaving my front door), my hubby usually does the driving but i am leaving him at home this time!
If you take a bus along the sea road to Dassoudi Beach tourist information point, there are buses that run from there up Troodos mountains. A day ticket on the normal buses cost 2 EUR (as far as I'm aware anyway). Not sure how much the fare is up the mountain though...
I can't recall the last time I got on a bus in Cyprus, certainly not since March 2004. Pretty much everyone drives in Cyprus!
Enjoy!

I often wonder why they don't put an option when booking holidays "will you attend an arrival and sales pitch meeting YES [ ] NO [ ]" would save a lot of poor reps waiting around hotel receptions.... we haven't been to one for years, could tell them more than they could tell us....
You won't believe how many people book a package and then either book a car hire in between or change their return travel arrangements to the airport without letting their representative/tour op know.
Not only is it frustrating for the transfer reps but also totally infuriating for the passengers who are sat on the coach waiting for holidaymakers who are not there
The first thing you learn about working in travel business: passengers brains are often left at home along with the other essential items they choose not to take with them when going on holiday, such as passports, tickets, medication, keys for their luggage etc etc....

looking down towards the reception area seating from the 6th floor
looking down to the pool and lounging area from the 6th floor
once of the several restaurants on the complex
the self service lunch at the restaurant above
soup in same hotel (made pretty by me making croutons and adding cheese from somewhere else...lol)
and one of the selection of puddings... this was quite something and I'm not a fan of sweet stuff

Long time since I stayed there (courtesy of an educational visit from our First Choice customer services department). I got one night at the Mediterranean Beach hotel but really loved the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were lovely.
I moved from the Mediterranean Beach to the Amathus Beach Hotel in Paphos and went from summer colours which made for friendly rooms to grey coloured doors, grey carpeted corridors and matching bed covers. It felt too business like and miserable which after the warm colours of amber marble pillars and gold in the reception was a real let down.
Mediterranean Beach gets my vote! One day, I will take my husband there for a treat

you've never noticed I like my grub before ?
Free wifi in the lobby, very friendly staff, lovely breakfast and lovely rooms.
Lots of sunbeds round the pool and on the grass leading down to the beach. I would stay there again.
Did you have to book a place at any of the resturants within the hotel? We are Bed and Breakfast as we like to eat out but as its just me and my daughter we might eat at the hotel a couple of times.
thanks
We only went for one night because a flight had to be cancelled, so we got put up for the night... so what we did and what normal people do is probably a little different... we just went to the restaurants and were shown to a seat etc...
