My baggage was mishandled by Monarch when I checked in on Thursday and was only retrieved by myself Monday night at Manchester when I returned. I had filed a PIR report in Spain but the luggage never turned up. I bought some clothes when in Spain, the usual jeans a couple of shirts pants socks and so on to see me through as i was only there for 4 days. I am wandering what compensation I can caim for from Monarch.
Obviously there's the clothes for which i have all the receipts but can I factor in the inconvenience of having to purchase new clothes and fuel etc.
The most annoying thing is my luggage was sent down the conveyor with no tags, however I was assured by the operator that the tag would be reunited with my bag and it would arrive at my destination. I was assured this several times as I was not confident of this happening.
Anyhow, surprise surprise no bags. The bag was also not handed into last & found until Saturday , 2 .5 days after check-in.
Any guides to what I can claim and how much??

I cant help at all with what you are entitled to from Monarch, but did you take out travel insurance before you left? This would compensate you for loss of bags and will cover the costs of the emergency items you had to purchase.
I was just wandering how much I could reasonably claim for the inconvenience of it all.
