Which seats do i avoid on the A321, because i don't wanna just be sat next to a wall instead of a window. I know there is certain seats to avoid on tfly's 767's and 757's.

boygeorgefan,

There's no window at around row 15 or 16. Forward or aft of that region and you'll be fine.

The A321's have a mini premium area. What happens with this area on normal charters.

boygeorgefan,

They're extra legroom seats.

So im guessing im most likely gonna be somewhere in middle of the aircraft or will i be lucky.

On a charter flight (flight numbers starting MON) it can sometimes be the case that an insufficient number of people have paid to occupy all of the available legroom seats. If this happens and the aircraft is full then there can be a slight chance that you will be seated in one of those legroom seats without having to pay (since the only seats left for people to occupy are those seats with the additional legroom). However, if you want to get guaranteed legroom then I would not suggest this method.

Anybody wishing to sit in unoccupied legroom seats when they are onboard can do so for an extra cost. The prices at time of posting are as follows:

Charter (MON)

Short haul - £15 per sector
Mid haul (Canaries, Cyprus, Turkey) - £25 per sector
Long haul (includes Egypt and Jordan) - £35 per sector

Scheduled (ZB)

LEI/IBZ/MJV/ALC/MAH/BCN - £15 per flight
AGP/FAO/PMI/GIB - £17.50 per flight
LCA/TFS/ACE - £25 per flight

I got the dreaded letter. Now flying to Goa with Monarch. Do Monarch do any prebookable seats? I have had a look at their website, but it's not the easiest one to find your way around.
Depressed now. 11 hours stuck in a shoe box. No seatback entertainment yet I suppose?

Mobor One,

Sorry to hear that, I'd be a little depressed too. It's not that Monarch are a bad airline, it's just when it comes to long haul, they are behind the times. There's no seat back IFE in economy. Seating information is here but as you've booked through Thomas Cook, you need to direct things through them.

Thanks Dazbo.
I'm interested in the premium cabin if there are any seats left, but the website doesn't give an indication of price, and can I specify seat numbers or window seats?
I now have to contact Thomas Cook Airlines to cancel the your seat your choice and obtain a refund.
Also, I've already paid £70 for 2x5kg extra luggage, so if I do manage to get the upgrade I'll need to sort out a refund for that too!
Ho hum. I need a holiday!

Mobor One,

Because you've booked through Thomas Cook, the premium cabin might not be an option. It depends if they've been given an allocation. I'd give Thomas Cook a call sooner rather than later to enquire about it. You can't specifiy seat numbers, only pre-book seating together. The premium upgrade price is normally around £200-250 return. What a palaver for you!!

Hurrah! Two upgrades booked for each leg of the journey. Have paid £488. Does that sound about right? They should have taken £70 off for the extra baggage I had already paid. Oh well, done now. :tup

Mobor One,

Glad you're sorted, you can look forward to your trip now :tup £244 each is within the normal price range.

Thanks Darren
Looking forward to the trip once more.
Still feel slightly grudging that the extra £500 spent. Still, I'll make sure I eat and drinks loads, and watch all the films available!

Partyboy_uk,

I recently asked which aircraft would operate the MON7812/3 from Gatwick to Heraklion on the 11th (departs 22.15) and 19th August (departs 05.15) and you said you would probably know after 22nd of June. Do you have the available info yet?

Many thanks in advance!

Outbound

17 Again
Duplicity
Monsters vs Aliens*

Inbound

Echelon Conspiracy
He's Just Not That Into You
Hannah Montanna: The Movie*

Anybody travelling in the A330 premium cabin will be able to watch one or more of the following films:
