daz1971,
Personally I would look at Thomson for Kenya. I went in March and as much as I like Monarch for short haul flights, their long haul product is 5 years behind the times. As far as I'm aware, they are still operating a direct Mombasa service from Manchester in 2010, hence it's onsale. MON normally use their A330-200 to MBA, however they do sometimes change this to their A300B4 that doesn't have the range to make it non-stop so stops for fuel. They've also used their Boeing 767-300/ER in the past that can make it non-stop but as partyboy_uk mentions, the lease on this expires at the end of the next winter season.

We have paid to upgrade to premium cabin, does anyone have any feedback on what this is like . . .
Is there anyway to find out what plane we are likely to be on, seat configuration and I saw someone mention that it is only an hour check in time if you are in premium . . .I have tried to find this on their website but it doesnt say this...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much
Karen
Thanks Darren. Think i am going to go with Thomsons, Thomas Cook still saying they are not doing a flight from manchester next year and to be honest dont fancy adding on extra flight time with a stop to re-fuel.
Your flights are operated by an Airbus A330-200. Monarch have two in their fleet; G-EOMA and G-SMAN (both are identical). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide. You'll find plenty of opinion on this thread. Seating is configured 2-4-2 in the premium cabin with 34" seat pitch and seat back IFE. It's not the best charter premium economy product out there, but it's not bad. Gatwick gets busy through the summer so you need to allow at least 2 hours for check-in. The recommendation is 3 hours.

This isn't the thread for Kenya, try the Africa Forum, particularly this one.

Has anyone told you recently how much of a star you are? If not, they should have done . . Ive just been ploughing through this thread and all of the help that you give is just fab!
Anyway, thanks for my info, just wanted to let you know that it and you are appreciated
The Thomas Cook flights to Goa seem to be being replaced with Monarch flights next winter. I'm not happy. I don't suppose anyone knows if Monarch are going to be revamping their A330s? I think I know the answer already.

You know the answer!! I'm not aware of any changes.

Hi, Our thomas cook flights (tcx67k and 67l) to goa in january has been changed to monarch flights (mon2490 and 2491). Do you know if they will still be direct Gatwick to Goa? Really don't need a stop in Bahrain as well as Monarch flights!!!!! Paula
We flew this one a few years ago, and it was direct. Actually, in all our trips to Goa, we have never been to Bahrain!
I am guessing Mobor One,that you still haven't had a letter.
I believe your flights are due to be operated by the A332's so operate non-stop. It's the A300B4-605R's that have to stop for fuel as they don't have the range to operate non-stop.

Does this plane have any sets of 2 seats, and if so which are the best to try and get? thanks
Seating is personal preference. The A330-200's are configured 2-3-2 from rows 37-43, but the outboard seats (A/B and J/K) are extra legroom seats so cost extra. The last 8 rows of the A300B4-605R's, 36-43 are 2-3-2. You'll find more information on our What Aircraft? guide.

My daughter is Gatwick - Luxor today (mon) on MON 5238. Can you advise the aircraft type and markings on this flight please. Thank you
Welcome onboard
LGW-LXR-LGW (MON5238/9) is operated by a Boeing 767-31K/ER (G-DIMB) with flymonarch.com written down the side!

No, still no letter. Dazbo says his screen is showing Thomas Cook and Monarch flights for that day, so fingers crossed. I booked the your seat your choice option about 2 weeks ago, and the paperwork which came definitely has a Thomas Cook flight number on it.
Am new to this, but hopefully someone will be able to answer my question.
Am due to fly on MON7892 to dalaman from gatwick and on MON 7893 from dalaman to Gatwick and i was wondering if anyone would be able to tell what what aircraft are used on thsi route?
Many Thanks
