Hi there new to this flying to luxor from lgw on 13th july with monarch does anyone know which aircraft we ll be on ? have read some really bad reviews concerning this airline and seat pitch
thanks in advance
Welcome onboard
Please try and quote flight numbers when you can as it saves us having to dig them out. MON5238/9 are currently operated by their Boeing 767-31K/ER although they also use their Airbus A300B4-605R on that route. You'll find more aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide. They offer the same seat pitch as other charter carriers on comparable aircraft types, slightly less than the major scheduled carriers.

Just to confirm Dazbo's posting , I can tell you that this flight is definitely down to be on the 767. You can get more information about this in the link posted above. I think you will find that the seat pitch is the same on Monarch as the seat pitch you would get on both Thomson and Thomas Cook short haul 767's. Hope this helps

Darren
cheer darren,
Flying to Chania on Tuesday 16th June on MON 3588 and returning on 23rd June MON 3589. Do you know what aircraft will be used.
Thanks TerryB
and not mon5238 as originally invoiced. will this still be a boeing 767 or another aircraft?
thanks
MAN-CHQ-MAN (MON3588/9) are operated by an Airbus A300B4-605R. Refer to our What Aircraft? guide for more details.
Darren
LGW-LXR-LGW (MON7094/5) are currently showing as a subcharter operated on behalf of Monarch by Viking Airlines and their Boeing 737-800's. More information on our Viking Airlines and What Aircraft? topics.

thanks darren much appreciated
Thanks for your prompt response. I've flown to Goa on their A300s before, a bit cramped but at least this flight isn't as long.

Hi Darren, what is the current baggage allowance for normal monarch charter flights ,this summer. Is it still 20 kg, or has it changed.
Luggage details are on Monarchs website. It's normally 20kg including 5kg hand luggage, but will be confirmed on your tickets.

Some relatives of mine are due to fly from Gatwick to Heraklion on MON7812 at 22.15 on , returning 05.15 as MON7813. They fly out on the 11th August and return on the 19th. They have been told this flight will be on a Boeing 767. Is this correct?
I can't see a MON7812/3 departing at 22:15, unless it's a charter for someone else. They normally use an A300B4-605R to HER but the 767 (G-DIMB) is operating out of LGW mainly (odd flights from MAN) so there's a chance it'll be used on the HER too.

Planespotter, I should be able to check for you after 22nd June. Post again after this date and I will let you know.
Also checked Thomson and they are doing a flight next summer to Mombasa but again someone has put a review on trip advisor saying thomsons are withdrawing the direct flight from Manchester but your still able to book to go from manchester. anyone know about this and if they is a flight what aircraft is this on???
its all very confusing and i cant believe trying to get a holiday to Kenya would be so hard.
Thanks.
Darren
What I can tell you is that this year Monarch will have a flight that goes from Manchester to Mombassa via Vienna, and Basel I believe on alternate weeks, and it will be operated by a B767. However, as Monarch's B767 will be returning to its owner, Thomas Cook, at the end of winter 2009/2010, if Monarch are still operating this flight next year then it is most likely to go on either the A330 or A300.
I am afraid it is unlikely you will be able to get much more information than this as many airlines do not have their summer schedules for the following year finalised until the winter. Regardless of who you book with though I am sure a suitable alternative will be offered to you should the timetable or routing change. If you are told that your flight will now depart from LGW instead of MAN then it may be worth asking your travel agent to discount the price of your holiday the difference it will cost you to get down to LGW. Good luck!
