Cheers Folks!
All Monarch we have been on have the 2 prong type connections (probably about 6 flights with them), so take the adapter (its also worth mentioning that if you want to watch the film using their headphones that you pay about £2 and you are only hiring them ! You have to give them back at the end... which makes me wonder about hygiene !)
Hi, Ive noticed that Monarch don't operate as many 757's as they used to, are they eventually going to stop operating the type all together?
Monarch now have just 3 757's in service
I am flying down on ZB 234 but was just intrested to know when their B767 would be visiting the island as I am staying not too far from the airport.

Your Flights Are Operated By The Airbus A321.
The Boeing 767-300 Makes A Visit To The Airport Every Thursday, Operating As MON 546/7 (MAN-ACE-MAN)

Just to clarify, Monarch hire headsets out at a cost of £2.50. These are twin-pronged headsets and are thoroughly cleaned after use. I can confirm that the sale of headsests is currently being considered, but at present headsets are collected in before landing.
thanks Partyboy, but I always take my own (as bought on flights with other companies) as I dont' think its possible to boil wash headphones without ruining the speakers in them.... and I don't want someone elses gammy ear problems !... lol
The cabin crew were good and the flights were comfortable, 767 both times - it's ages since we flew on a 767, I really like this aircraft.
Have too just arrived back. Although I could sware the flight was operated by an A300 both ways, and was late on the 5th Sept (although made up some time with a 3hr05 trip time), and was 2 hours late returning to LGW yesterday morning! Both due to G-MONS having technical faults on previous flights. Anyone klnow what was up with that old crate?
Ah - just realised - must be more than one flight. I was on MON7926/7.
Hope you had a good time in Kos though. I did apart from the airport a dreadful place to spend the last night!

Ours were day flights (departed Gatwick 10:50, departed Kos 18:20) so quite good.
I assumed it was a 767 as the configuration was 2-4-2 but I may have been mistaken. I'm sure Dazbo could confirm though.
The MON1738/9 is indeed operated by the 767, G-DIMB (since 27/05/09) and the MON7926 is operated by an A300 (since 11/07/09)
Glad you had a good time Prettypolly. The rain storms on Thurs/Fri were quite a surprise though werent they

Can someone tell me when the check-in desk might open for my flight?
MON 3692, Mon 28 Sept, Gatwick South, 22.55
It says on my booking confirmation (haven't received paper tickets yet) that check in opens 18.55. I believe this flight is operated by the A330-200 and I'd like to get the window seats at the back section in the 2-3-2 configuration. I've been told that I can't pre-book seats and that the best way to get good seats is to check in early. If I get to Gatwick before the official check-in desk opens, could I check in at another Monarch desk?
Thanks
Shell

Most Probably Not, But You Would Be One Of The First In The Queue When They Opened Your Check In Desk

Thanks Gower, that's what I thought. Should I trust the booking confirmation that says 18.55? I need to work out what time to book a taxi for. Do many people get to check in early, or should i be alright to get there for when it opens?

Hi Shell
I'm pretty sure that Monarch operate a generic check-in system at Gatwick for charter flights (prefix MON) so regardless of which flight you're on, there's a single queuing system (which I think is great).
We have definitely checked in for flights quite a bit in advance of the time that our tickets said the check-in opens, quite a few times in fact.
The only potential fly-in-the-ointment may be that the seats you're talking about are (I believe) classed as extra-legroom so you'll have to pay for them.
If you're happy to do that, you should be OK.
Thanks very much Prettypollycat. I don't mind paying the extra leg-room price. I know you can pre-book these, but you don't get an allocated seat, which kind of defeated the object to me, but I'll be happy to pay on the day when they do give me my seat numbers. In your experience, do many people get there early? Do you normally get the seats you want?
