Also I really fancy going to Marrakech, how easy is is to get there from Agadir?
Thanks for the advise.
Marrakesh is a 3-4 hour drive from Agadir, depending on whether you go on a tour bus or a grand taxi. Unfortunately I can't answer the rest of your questions because I've never stayed in Agadir. Hope you get a response soon!
Thank you for the information. That's quite a long drive, still think it'll be worth it though.
Please just remember that the roads in Morocco are in a poor state compared to those in the UK, and therefore the going is slow. Be aware also that there are often police spot checks, so make sure you have ALL your documents available.
What do we need then?, Just passport and where we are staying etc?
I thought you might be driving in a hired car ... so in which case this would be your driving licence, the car hire agreement, proof of insurance etc.
Sorry if I misunderstood your mode of transport.
Depends on the price for a coach is. I don't think we will be going anywhere else tbh.
Thanks for the tip on the pens. I'll bring a box!!
Will probably eat out most of the time so an idea of cafe & restaurant prices, cheap, middle & expensive. Also beer, wine spirits etc would be useful to able to work out how much spending money is needed.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
where are you staying. We have just returned from the Ramada , we were all inclusive but ate out a few times. 3 course cost us £15 a head including two bottles of wine.
the weather will be great as i went to morocco last september, cant comment on the hotel as i stayed on the iberostar. Agadir is nice and beach is endless, also the shopping at the suk is great fun. Only negative was the food is a little bit of the same over two weeks, more so because we had kids with us - but it wont spoil the holiday.
Be warned the weather is a little wierd, its never a pure blue sky and most of the time and very thing overcast. Trust me its very very hot and you will tan very easily, so dont think that there is a thin bit of cloud and you wont burn ... AS You will.
Have a great time
There are alot of places to eat outside of the hotel, as someone has already posted that they claim to be english food. Cant comment as just went into places that looked clean, the food is of a good standard. If you want burger and chips then you will get it, although the burger was a better class than blackpool.
Thanks for the reply. Someone at work said that about the weather there. Been looking on the BBC site and it's seems to be really hot with cloud and rain cover. Hope there's no rain when I go.
The weather reports on here are correct, every morning was thick grey cloud, but most days cleared by midday and was still hot -good for tanning. It seems that because of Agadir's position that it has its own micro-climate, if you go 5 miles inland its clear skys and 35 degrees.
If you want to do any trips, noted you mention Marrakech would strongly recommend that you so not use the holiday reps tours as they are more than double the grand taxi prices. A couple that stayed in same accomodation did the reps Marrakech tour and regretted it, left at 6.00am and returned at 8.00pm, they said they were herded like cattle, with hardly any time to enjoy the sites etc, because the travel was nearly 10 hours. Better to do an overnight in Marrakech. If you want any more info let me know, we did three trips by Grand Taxi which were excellent.
I would love some more information on Marrakech. Something that we really want to do. If you have prices and places to stay on a over night stay again that would be excellent.
10.30 till 6.00
First to Taroudant, which is known as Granmother of Marrakech and then went to Tioule a Berber Oasis village for lunch of Tagine & Couscous - total cost via Grand Taxi inc lunch was 800dirhams (£50)
9.30 till 4.30
Next we did Tiznit (main Silver town of Morocco) which included trip to mini Sahara and biggest Dam in Morocco then to a Berber house for lunch
again cost 800dirhams
9.30 till 3.00
Last was trip north of Agadir to Paradise Valley, which is an Oasis in the middle of the Atlas Mountains - amazing. Driver bought meat & melon & soft drinks on the way, and had lunch of Kebabs & home made bread at Berber house. Total cost was 600dirhams
You cannot do the same trips with the reps as they use tourist restaurants for lunches etc, plus the cost for first 2 above was 500dirhams each.
I have sent message to Abdallah (Grand Taxi driver) in Agadir to ask for a price for an overnight in Marrakech
mhorton
Thank you so much for all the information you have provided.
My husband and I are thinking of spending a week all inclusive in Marrakech with our baby son in January (he'll be 18 months by then). Can anyone give us any advice as to whether this will be a suitable holiday for a toddler e.g. hygiene, vaccinations, bugs, safety etc. Plus any recommendations on where to stay that is family friendly if this holiday is a good idea? We'll be booking the holiday in France although we are English.
As for vaccinations wev'e had Typhoid, Hep A for Turkey so we are covered.
As far as Hygiene most people i've spoken to, have said Marrakech is fine. I always take a bottle of alcohol handgel with me anyway after using loos and stuff.
Laurence
Cheers
