I wouldn't advise buying your plug ins from Boots, they were £10.99, the same ones from savers was £5.19. Of course you may get them cheaper elsewhere, but this was the only 2 shops i went to yesterday. But aren't boots expensive, that is a 50% increase.
Mozzies were out and about last week in Coral Bay area, we all got bit, but not as bad as some people. I use autan spray and avon skin so soft. The night we got bit, we had no sprays onas I'd switched handbags!!!!!
are you saying mozzies don't like your other handbag ?
Cy, your very cheeky....
There are mossies and luckily only bitten by a few on white skin. Not a problem in pernera area. What is abit of a problem is the amount of trantulas appearing all over. Seen a few and my friend had one in her apartment. We saw one in the middle of the road near kokos bar. They are not poisonous tho x
OMG, Derwent Rocker, we had them in Paphos, beigey grey in colour, hideous. We even had black snakes in the hotel gardens, a waiter found one, picked it up and threw it in the banana fields across the road. Don't know what sort it was though!
derwentrocker after reading your post im glad im home tarantulas omg
I must confess i check all around my room before retiring at night lol. They do nip you but no poision
I will certainly be checking everywhere before i go to bed next time i go away-i dont want any nasty suprises like waking up with a spider eyeballing me
Must admit we saw a tarantula under the outside steps of the Seagulls apartment when we were there in May/June and in all the 5-6years we have been to Cyprus (Larnaca side) this is a first. We asked the barman and he said it wasn't harmful but he did come back later with a pool cue and killed it! He said it was a baby but it was at least 5 cm in length and the biggest spider I have ever seen. My hubby took a photo as we couldn't believe it. We are hoping to go back again in September so it obviously hasn't bothered us that much!!

They tend to be quite large and hairy (the ones in Cyprus have stripes of sort of grey and black all along them)

Lindsay.
ok. ..looking forward to seeing the beastie
Here is the pic of one of the ones we saw in Paphos, next to hubbies foot for size purposes.
OOOOhhhhhh yes but we didn't get that close you nutter!!!!! Ours seemed a lot rounder at the back end though so was either bigger or had eaten something big. When they said it was a baby we were mortified I certainly wouldn't like to be too close to an adult one.
Forgot to say the black snakes are good snakes as they eat the rats and other rodents its the brown snakes with the diamond pattern on their backs that are dangerous. Thats what the childrens rep told us a few years ago while we were staying in Ayia Napa Macronnossis complex!
but we didn't get that close you nutter!!!!!
No, neither did I, I used the zoom lense Good to here about the black snakes though.
No defo tarantula , we got told it was by the managers of the bars, we saw another long thing tonight it was huge crawling on the road near perners beach. Too large for a roache but did have a shell, any ideas it was about 3 inches long
I hope we don't find any in our apts, i will defo be taking the first flight outta there if we do.
