Hi Sarah, just a thought but aswell as posting on here why don't you copy and paste your enquiry on to the ex-pats and the general holiday enquiry sections of the forums, this way you will be covering all your bases whilst still having an enquiry in the Malta & Gozo forums, I would also be very interested in any replies to this as this is something that we will hopefully need to find out about within the next couple of years.
when I and the wife moved Malta from London 3 years ago, we used Redferns http://www.redfernremovers.co.uk/index2.htm
good price and did a great job - I think we paid £4,500 odd, but we moved alot of stuff - anyway, they gave a quote over the phone, and stuck to it ! No kids, so can't help you with that, but anything else you want help with, just post here !
Thats brilliant advice Guys, I will definately be following your advice and will let you know. So many things to sort out now we have actually bitten the bullet and signed the lease! Dont know really where to start and terrified that it will go wrong for us! Thanks again for your help and any more advice of any kind will always be welcome!!
I have spoken to Redferns this morning and they are coming to see me on Monday morning to assess our removal needs. I told the bloke that you had reccommended me through this website and he asked me to say thanks and was pleased that you were happy with their service. I will let you know what happens on Monday
Thanks again sarah
Firstly, best of luck with your move to Malta.
I am a British mum, one 19 year old son. My situation is a bit different to yours, but hope I can offer some advice just the same.
My son was born here so I could just "throw him in at the deep end" sent him to the local primary around the corner from where I live, and he spoke Maltese by the age of 4. At 11+ age he passed the church secondary school entrance exam that is offered to the boys, and he's now at university doing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
At 15, your daughter's situation is obviously very different, as I assume she doesn't speak Maltese. Although I have no personal experience with private schools, I feel this is going to be the best option for your daughter.
This is link for the education site, you will find all schools addresses listed there, exams available, syllabi etc.

Speaking to other parents and a relative who works in education it seems these three schools are equally the best. Even though it is presently summer holidays, they run summer schools so you will probally find someone to help you. It would be ideal if you could settle something fairly soon so your daughter could start at the beginning of the school year.

Just another point, when she goes on to post-secondary education she will be at a positive advantage, as all lectures are in English anyway, due to the large number of different nationality students. You do not need a Maltese O level for post-secondary courses either if you are not Maltese or you have lived on the island for less than 4 years in the last 4 years, both of these apply to your daughter I assume.
Sorry this was a long post Hope I have been of some help.
just hope Redferns live up to my experience !
wow ingliza! thankyou very very much, that is the best bit of information so far and I have been on the phone daily to the etc and education department trying to sort things out!! You really are a super star and I appreciate it !
