Hi Ezza
We had a brilliant time when we were at the Tamarindo. The accommodation was first class all nice and new. We had 7 apartments between us 2 one storey and 3 up and down they were no. 28 to 31b right by the pool they were close enough to the pool and we just kept the patio door open for the kids to go in and out. Did not have to do much cooking as we were AI kitchen did not look as if it had been used. We were originally booked for the Oasis Village but our accommodation got changed 10 days before we went. (thankgod for that but it is a long story)
We went in a group with 5 families 22 in total kids ages ranged from 6 to 16 so we did not need much entertainment there were a few shows on while we were there a magic show, parrot show, a guy singing and playing a guitar (I thought he was quite good),saw him twice also two men and a women who done a juggling act and who also got the audience to participate that show was a laugh but only lasted for 45 minutes. There was also a mini disco and quiz with a couple of reps. One night we played bingo which was a laugh when the lad was calling it was in English then Spanish then German so you did get a bit confused but I WON so I was happy and I was 70 euro's better off.
There were queues at the bar (the lovely manager when he was around got rid of the queues quickly as he could remember your drinks and he would have them ready for you) but you could get 4 drinks everytime you went so we never sat without a drink you just use to go when the queue went down. On a couple of nights during August I did need my jacket but I am not sure about October. There was always a breeze anyway.
Around the pool during the day there are two reps who ask the kids to play "water volley ball" "killer darts" "football" or "volley ball on the court". They also done bits and pieces at night around the bar area.
There was a sign advertising the play area but the kids looked and looked for it one night and could not find it so I guess it is not yet built.
All of our group were happy with the food the kids always found something they liked. There was chips everyday as well as other potato products now and again. There was chicken nuggets and little fish shaped things sometimes. They did cook chicken, fish, steak or pork sometimes on the grill so that was ok. There was plenty of deserts, fruits and loads of ice-cream all different varieties. My son used to cook cheese with ham on toast in the morning if there was nothing he fancied. We were there for 2 weeks so I think you do get sick of eating. We did eat out on a few occasions but that was our choice and we had a birthdays celebration. (highly recommend "Slowboat 2" chinese it was delicious) There was a sports bar just around the corner which had the football, cricket and other sporty things where the lads went when the sun got too hot!!!!!! That had a room next door with pool table, air hockey and other things for the kids.
The building work does not effect you at all you do see one crane over the roof of the reception but it was way over the road. There is loads of building work around all of Correlejo so the crane industry do a roaring trade. I think in a few years when all the building work is done I may think about going back.
We went to the water park during our stay and everyone enjoyed it. There was no hassle with queue's we hired rings so you did not have to wait for someone giving you one. There were 7 big slides 3 you needed rings and a couple of smaller slides also there was a play area for the little ones. I dont like the slides so I just chilled out. You also have to pay for your sunbeds.
We also went on a couple of trips we went to Lanzarote on the Blue Dolphin (kids loved that) and to Animal Quackers it was a animal park both trips were enjoyed by everyone. The camel ride was the best.
I hope this answers some of your questions fell free to pm me and ask anything else. We all did have a really good time we were bothered about our holiday as the Oasis Village where we were supposed to be staying had really bad reviews so we were happy being at the Tamarindo.
We were in 81a at the back with a view of a wall from the back of the apartment. Behind this is a bar that plays music till 2.00 .m and shops undeveloped. The work in these starts between 6 am and 7 am. so if you are lucky four hours of peace per night.
There is no entertainment, or at least there wasn't during our 10 night stay. There is nothing for the kids to do other than the pool, darts board and pool table.
The food is dreadful. Every meal is cold but you are ok if you like chips.
We wern't even supposed to be going here but eh that's Airtours for you - oh and the most important thing - hope and pray your room is ready for you when you get there.
has anyone stayed at the oasis tamarindo, its a new complex so there isnt any feedback as far as i can see, probablt still building it
Lots of feedback roughy. I have merged your post with this existing 2 page topic. And you can also read our reviews on the following page:
thank you david, you have been very helpful
myself, husband and two kids age 8 and 4 are booked all-inclusive with direct holidays to go to this hotel at the end of june. does anyone have anything good to say about this complex??? am very worried and seriously considering cutting my losses and cancelling.
Whats the daytime entertainment like at the Tamarindo? do they have competitions and games etc? Table tennis etc?
And we being self catering at a mainly all inclusive property, does this affect us taking part in any such entertainment?
EDIT: Merged with existing topic, which may provide some useful info.
David HT Mod
you can take part when self catering as well. our only let down was the
sewage smell near our 2 bedroom apartment and its a bit far out of town
to see other entertainment.
im staying at this resort All inclusive at the end of july. Reviews have got alot better and i am looking forward to going. I am ok with finding things to do myself. Alot of my questions have been answered however no one mentions the beaches? nearest beach? and whats the surf like?
any replys would be great
thanks in advance
These apartments are quite a way to the beach about thirty minutes I would say,but if you like walking you will be okay otherwise taxis are readily available.Down at the beach on Sunday and the surf looked brill.

Well I have booked for May 2007 Half term . Please keep writing replies as I would like to keep an eye on the resort.
Hi has anyone been here recently, please could you post some details
There are some very good reviews on www. holidaywatchdog.com. I'm booked for summer 2007, so am interested to hear peoples replies and comments.
Sorry but I can not get this website to print the web address I am referring to in my post above. It is holiday watchdog. Hope this post makes sense.
skinnybot we don't allow links to that website. This decision was taken after they removed a link a member had posted that led to holidaytruths.
